  • Patent number: 7365966
Abstract: An electronic device has an operating panel. A through-hole penetrating the operating panel is provided at a part of the operating panel. A partition board includes a board part and a partition part, and a step is provided between the board part and the partition part. In an area where the through-hole and the board part of the partition board are to be formed, a metal mold can be thickened. In an area where a narrow gap on a surface side of the operating panel is to be formed, the length of the metal mold can be reduced. Therefore, the strength of the metal mold can be maintained. Also, the step of the partition board, which separates the board part and the partition part, prevents visual recognition of the through-hole by a user.

  • Patent number: 7365971
Abstract: A mounting mechanism includes a computer chassis (20), a bracket (30) defining a pair of slideways (341, 342) in a sidewall (34) thereof for receiving corresponding sliding members (12) of a storage device (10), a power supply (50) rotatably attached in the computer chassis, and a fastening piece (40) attached to the sidewall of the bracket. The fastening piece has a tilted portion (42), and a blocking portion (44). When the power supply is rotated inwardly, a retention member (56) of the power supply presses the tilted portion toward the sidewall, so that the blocking portion blocks the sliding member of the storage device in a corresponding slideway of the bracket. The storage device is thus secured in the bracket.

  • Patent number: 7362565
Abstract: A housing structure is provided for supporting vertically stacked horizontally extending arrays of forwardly removable disk drives in a very compact arrangement. The housing has spaced apart vertical walls with opposite side surface grooves having laterally projecting elastomeric bumper members therein. Pairs of front and rear disk drives are joined with elongated support plates disposed on their opposite sides and having spaced apart sloping side edge portions. The support plates are slidingly received in the wall grooves and wedgingly engage the resilient bumpers in a manner restraining movement of the inserted disk drives along three mutually perpendicular axes. Latch structures lock the inserted drives in the housing and releasably maintain resilient insertion forces on the tandem drive assemblies. A fan system draws cooling air through vertical gaps between the drives, and operational drive heat is conducted via the support plates into the vertical housing walls.

  • Patent number: 7359191
Abstract: In this invention, the CPU of a NAS board, which is liable to become hot, is cooled by concentrating a larger amount of air onto a heat sink. A plurality of logic circuit boards 3 are mounted on a control section 1D of a disc array device 1. The circuit component 4A for realizing the NAS function, liable to become hot, is provided with a heat sink 5. The aperture of the main air inlet section (Wb) is covered with a top plate 8. Airflow guidance sections (Wa, Wc) are respectively provided on both sides of the main air inlet section. Since the fin pitch of the airflow guidance sections is set narrow, the air inflow resistance (airflow resistance) of these is higher than that of the main air inlet section. Due to this difference in airflow resistance, the air in the vicinity of the airflow guidance sections is guided into the main air inlet section. The top plate 8 prevents outflow of air that has flowed into the main air inlet section to outside the heat sink 5.
