Abstract: Methods and systems for indexing, storing, recalling and displaying social network user profiles, event calendar postings and user feed postings are described. A single, discrete set of keywords, can be utilized and assigned to both user profiles and postings and can operate as a method of indexing. The assignment of these keywords may allow users to control the display of calendar and feed content by matching assigned posting keywords to assigned profile keywords via a matching algorithm. Matched event-related postings may also be automatically displayed in a user's calendar. Searches of profiles and postings may also be performed by constructing queries using the same set of discrete keywords attached to profiles and postings. Users may have the ability to control the display of specific profile information and postings via privacy settings, which utilize unique methods of tracking relationship segmentation and social distance.

Abstract: After a clone file is created from a file, a write request targeting the clone file can be handled. It is determined that the write request indicates the clone file that was cloned from a file in a first fileset. The clone file is of a second fileset and a clustered file system comprises the first fileset and the second fileset. A data block of the clone file affected by the write request is determined. It is then determined that the data block at a current location cannot be modified. The write request is implemented with respect to the data block at a different location. It is indicated that the data block at the different location can be modified for subsequent write requests that indicate the clone file.

Abstract: A search query is received from a single input field of a user interface. A keyword search is performed based on the search query to generate keyword search results. A natural language search is performed of a frequently-asked question (FAQ) database based on the search query to generate FAQ search results. The keyword search results and the FAQ search results are combined in a display page.

Abstract: A method for representing and querying incomplete and uncertain information in graph data receives a plurality of graphs containing subject nodes, object nodes and predicates extending between subject and object nodes. The subject nodes and predicates can be URIs or blank, and the object nodes can be URIs, literals or blank. Incomplete graph data sets are created by a variable into each blank subject node, each blank predicate and each blank object node, and uncertain graph data sets are created by substituting alternative values for all variables in the incomplete data graph. A query is received from a user and a naïve search of the graph data is performed for certain data. The incomplete and uncertain graphs are then used to determine potential answers and certain potential answers based on user-specified requirements. The certain answers and potential certain answers are returned to the user.

Abstract: The disclosure discloses a method for implementing data synchronization between a source database and a target database, which includes: a synchronization device acquires at least one first Logical Change Record (LCR) and a keyword of the first LCR from the source database; the synchronization device determines whether there is a second LCR with a keyword as same as the keyword of the first LCR in the synchronization device itself; the synchronization device processes the first LCR to generate a processed LCR according to the determination result, so that the synchronization device stores only one LCR containing the keyword of the first LCR; and the synchronization device sends the processed LCR to the target database. Accordingly, the disclosure also discloses a device and system for implementing data synchronization between a source database and a target database. The disclosure can reduce the data transmission load when implementing the synchronization between the source database and the target database.

Abstract: Embodiments include a computer program product and an apparatus for cloning files across different filesets and maintaining the clone files. The structural model is stored as an object-oriented, serialized file as a series of objects, including primitives, coordinates, object names, group names and other object identifiers. The system integrates various types of data, including tabulated textual data, annotated engineering drawings, photographic records, graphical plots, audio and videotaped records, from different tables and databases. Data are displayed to the user based on queries that the user submits to the system, which queries are evaluated at run-time. As a result, the user achieves unparalleled flexibility in data analysis and evaluation.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for managing data in cloud storage using deduplication techniques is described. At least one unique segment of data is received from at least one backup source. The at least one unique segment of data is written to at least one container file associated with the at least one back up source. An index file is created for the at least one container file. The index file includes information regarding the unique segments of data. A plurality of the unique segments of data is transmitted from the at least one container file as an object to a virtual container on cloud storage. A virtual container is composed of an index file and one or more container files, and the index file and each container file are stored as individual cloud storage objects. Spatial locality of the plurality of unique segments of data is maintained in cloud storage.

Abstract: A system and method for updating, monitoring, and controlling applications on a workstation. The workstation includes a workstation management module configured to detect the launch or request to access a network by an application. A workstation application server receives data associated with the application from the workstation. The application server module can determine one or more policies or categories to associate with the application by referencing an application inventory database. Once the application server module has the category or policy, it forwards a hash/policy table to the workstation management module. Upon receipt of the hash/policy table, the workstation management module applies the policy that is associated with the application to control network access by the application.

Abstract: Video entity templates defining common features that relate to various metadata types shared among a group of video Web pages are generated for target Web sites. Metadata associated with videos contained within Web pages belonging to a particular target Web site can then be automatically and accurately extracted using a video entity template generated for the particular target Web site. This metadata can then be indexed for use by video search applications in providing video search results.

Abstract: A query received from a user is directed to a particular search application (e.g. an Enterprise search portal) that is associated with a result source from which to retrieve results. The received query may be federated to additional result sources when the received query is determined to be a popular query in a result source. Query logs associated with the additional result sources are analyzed to determine when a query is popular as compared to the original result source. The query may be altered before being executed that uses one or more of the additional result sources. When the query (altered/unaltered) is determined to be popular for any of the additional result sources as compared to the original result source, the query is executed using that additional result source.

Abstract: Anchor images and information associated therewith are accumulated during a Web crawling operation. One or more rules are applied to the accumulated candidate anchor images to filter out candidate anchor images that are not appropriate for use as the anchor image for a particular target video. The remaining candidate anchor image is then selected as the anchor image for the particular video.

Abstract: Methods and systems provide a tool for prioritizing the ordering of outstanding indexing work in order to bring a particular portion of an indexing source up to date quickly and to reduce the likelihood of inconsistencies between an index-backed view and a direct view of a source. In accordance with the described embodiments, indexing of items can be prioritized based upon a user's view or metadata contained within a query. Further, in at least some embodiments, the tool can decide the order to index items based upon multiple prioritization requests.

Abstract: A method and a system to automatically segment text based on header tokens is described. A relevance value and an irrelevance value are determined for each token in a description, assuming no tokens are left out of computations. The irrelevance value is based on occurrences of a token in a sample set of descriptions. The relevance value is an estimated probability of relevance based on the header of the description being segmented.
