Abstract: Methods and systems are described for storing content. The content may be divided into user-specific portions and common portions. One or more selection rules may be used to divide the content into the user-specific portion and the common portions. The one or more selection rules may be selected such that the common portion is not decodable without the user-specific portions. The user-specific portions or data indicating a location of the user-specific portion may be stored in user-specific storage. The user-specific storage may be used to determine content for playback to a user.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method, a server and a computer-readable medium for recommending nodes of an interactive content, in which, when receiving recommendation request information for requesting a recommendation node for a specific node included in an interactive content from a user generating the interactive content, a first embedding value for a first set including the specific node is calculated, and a second embedding value for each second set including each of a plurality of nodes of each of one or more other interactive contents included in the service server is calculated, so as to calculate a similarity between the first embedding value and the second embedding value and provide the user with a next node, as a recommendation node, of a node corresponding to the second embedding value determined based on the similarity.

Abstract: A scheduling method includes: a server receiving a first request of a first peer (P2P) node; the first request containing service content; using position information on different network hierarchies of the first P2P node and the service content to determine at least one candidate P2P node for the first P2P node; the at least one candidate P2P node can provide a service for the first P2P node; the position information being position information generated on the basis of a network topology structure; using the at least one candidate P2P node to generate a candidate P2P node information list; P2P node information in the information list representing a transmission distance between the at least one candidate P2P node and the first P2P node; and returning the information list to the first P2P node. Further disclosed at the same time are a server, a first P2P node and a computer-readable storage medium.

An example apparatus includes memory and processor circuitry to determine a population reach estimate of a union of time intervals for which media ratings data is available, the population reach estimate based on a pseudo universe estimate of a population audience corresponding to the union of the time intervals; determine a pseudo universe estimate of a recorded audience corresponding to the union of the time intervals; determine the pseudo universe estimate of the population audience based on the pseudo universe estimate of the recorded audience; and in response to a decision to update the pseudo universe estimate of the population audience to reduce an error of the population reach estimate output the population reach estimate of the union when the error of the population reach estimate satisfies a threshold.

Abstract: The object of the present disclosure is to provide a method and apparatus for providing video streams. The method for providing video streams according to the present disclosure includes: providing a list of identity information of other users to the user equipment; providing video streams to the user equipment according to the identity information selected by the user equipment. The technology according to the present disclosure may raise the user's interest and attention in video-watching, and thereby improving the user's video-watching experience and satisfaction.

Abstract: An interactive television program guide application is provided that queries a user regarding the user's interest in television programs and suggests television programs to the user based on the user's responses. The interactive television program guide application identifies a television program that is potentially of interest to the user. The interactive television program guide application then queries the user regarding the user's interest using questions that are formulated based on attributes associated with the identified television program. Using the user's responses to the questions, the interactive television program guide application identifies and suggests one or more television programs to the user.

An example method disclosed herein includes determining whether a first time period of a first audio signal corresponds to a first affiliate interrupt period based on whether (1) a first type of watermark is detected in the first time period of the first audio signal, and (2) a second type of watermark is detected in the first audio signal outside the first time period but not in the first time period of the first audio signal, and determining whether the first time period of the first audio signal corresponds to the first affiliate interrupt period when watermarks are not detected in the first time period of the first audio signal based on comparison of first signatures with second signatures representing a corresponding first time period of a reference audio signal.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a method receives a first set of probabilities mapping a behavior to a user for a set of behaviors in a video delivery system. A first part of a model is used to predict the first set of probabilities. The method receives a second set of probabilities mapping a user to a behavior for a set of users that are using an account on the video delivery system. A second part of the model is used to predict the second set of probabilities. A combined probability is calculated for the set of behaviors and the set of users based on the first set of probabilities and the second set of probabilities. The method updates a second parameter of the second part of the model while keeping a first parameter of the first part of the model fixed and outputs the second parameter of the second part of the model upon determining the training of the model is finished.

Abstract: Object selection reward data, including rewards for viewer selection of objects of interest in presented media content of a video stream may be electronically communicated to the user automatically when the user electronically selects the object of interest as it is shown in the screen. Provided is improved functionality to activate an image in the video stream into an object that then can be selectable or become a part of an application running on a receiving device such as a set-top box or other media device. The received video may or may not be taken over by the application running on the set-top box. The video scaling can be preserved, and a part of the application. Alternatively, the whole of the visible video screen may not be a part of the application.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes receiving a first request for first supplemental content for use by a content-presentation device in performing a first content-modification operation, receiving a second request for second supplemental content for use by a tuner device in performing a second content-modification operation. The method also includes determining that the content-presentation device is connected to the tuner device, and based at least in part on the first and second requests, determining that the first and second requests are associated with the same modifiable content-segment, and, in response to the determinations, using one or more parameters as a basis to select for performance an action from a set of actions including a first action that facilitates performance of the first content-modification operation and a second action that facilitates performance of the second content-modification operation.

Abstract: A system for navigating, exploring, and controlling immersive content and immersive advertisements provided on one or more OTT television applications using connected digital media players and/or user computing devices is presented. Immersive content and immersive advertisements are content and advertisements that can be viewed in 360 degrees so as to change the point of view and view the same content or advertisement from different angles. The user is enabled to control the playback, navigation, and exploration of the 360-degree immersive content and immersive advertisements using a digital trackpad in a downloadable 360-degree media player that can be applied as a separate application integration on a user's smartphone or other device or that can be integrated into the OTT mobile application. Other connected streaming devices can also integrate the 360-degree media player to allow for 360 degree exploration and viewing of the immersive content and immersive advertisements.

Abstract: Provided are systems, methods, and computer-program products for identifying a media content stream when the media content stream is playing an unscheduled media segment. A computing device may receive a plurality of media content streams, where at least two of the plurality of media content streams concurrently includes a same unscheduled media segment. The computing device may determine that the media display device is playing the unscheduled media segment by examining the media content available at the current time in each of the plurality of media content streams. The computing device may determine identification information from the media content included in the media content stream. The computing device may determine contextually-related content, which may be disabled while the unscheduled media segment is being played by the media display device. The computing device may display the media content stream and the contextually-related content after the unscheduled media segment has been played.

Abstract: An embodiment according to the present disclosure provides a display apparatus including a display, an audio output interface, a memory, a communication interface configured to connect to a terminal of a user, and a processor configured to output, via at least one of the display or the audio output interface, content stored in the memory or received through the communication interface, determine a position of the terminal to which the communication interface is connected, determine whether the position of the terminal is outside of a viewing area, and based on determining that the position of the terminal is outside of the viewing area, output the content to the terminal.
