  • Patent number: 9319615
Abstract: In response to an operation such as power-on or power-off, channel change and sound volume change, a television set combined with a personal computer automatically makes e-mail with information in a predetermined format indicative of the operation attached. The e-mail is automatically sent to another television set to inform the other television set of operation of the own television set. On the other hand, the e-mail can be sent to a rating company for audience share survey. The television set automatically reads the received e-mail and attachment to change the indication of display. The television set has storage of the received information for analysis of an abnormality. Abnormality can be also sensed through abnormal act on the remote controller apt to be taken by a person in panic or off the truck. The television set refuses information from unknown address for blocking an attack of a stranger.

  • Patent number: 9313359
Abstract: A mobile device responds in real time to media content presented on a media device, such as a television. The mobile device captures temporal fragments of audio-video content on its microphone, camera, or both and generates corresponding audio-video query fingerprints. The query fingerprints are transmitted to a search server located remotely or used with a search function on the mobile device for content search and identification. Audio features are extracted and audio signal global onset detection is used for input audio frame alignment. Additional audio feature signatures are generated from local audio frame onsets, audio frame frequency domain entropy, and maximum change in the spectral coefficients. Video frames are analyzed to find a television screen in the frames, and a detected active television quadrilateral is used to generate video fingerprints to be combined with audio fingerprints for more reliable content identification.

  • Patent number: 9305514
Abstract: Tablet computers send relevant geographic and identification data to an application server (one of the tablets, or a local or remote server) which groups them to form a video wall. Once placed next to one another in substantially the same plane, the tablets snap photographs at more or less the same time and these images are transmitted to the application server. The server determines the relative positions of the tablets and then streams a portion of a video or digital image to each of the tablets in order that all tablets display the video or image in an integrated fashion. The tablets may operate independently or may rely upon the remote application server. Relative positions are determined by analyzing features and determining an up-down or left-right relationship between pairs of images, sorting images into vertical and horizontal rows, and placing the images into a grid.

  • Patent number: 9303982
Abstract: Approaches to enable a computing device, such as a phone or tablet computer, to determine depth information about an object captured by a single camera of the device without requiring multiple cameras to capture that object in their field of view. For example, the computing device may track the object throughout a sequence of images using a single rear-facing camera and then determine the depth information of that object by combining data about the object's changes in size (throughout the sequence of images) and information about the distance between the computing device and a user's face (or other user's feature) that can be determined using two or more front-facing cameras configured for stereo imaging. The depth information of the object may include the distance between the computing device and the object, the distance between the object and the user's face, or the physical dimensions of the object, among other such information.
