Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are provided for depth guided structure from motion. A system may obtain a plurality of image frames from a digital content item that corresponds to a scene and determine, based at least in part on a correspondence search, a set of 2-D keypoints for the plurality of image frames. A depth estimator may be used to determine a plurality of dense depth map for the plurality of image frames. The set of 2-D keypoints and the plurality of dense depth maps may be used to determine a corresponding set of depth priors. Initialization and/or depth-regularized optimization may be performed using the keypoints and depth priors.

  • Patent number: 12002154
Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) interactivity system automatically and dynamically generates shape-conforming and computationally efficient colliders for detecting collisions with automatically differentiated features represented by different sets of points in a point cloud. The system selects a set of points that represent a particular feature of a 3D object, decimates the set of points to a subset of points that represent an approximate shape of the particular feature with fewer points than the set of points, and generates a collider with the approximate shape represented by the subset of points. The system may then use the collider in determining whether a collision element collides with the particular feature.

  • Patent number: 11995578
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for improved color rendering. In some embodiments, video is captured of a real-world scene, and a region of screen content is detected in the captured video. A processor selectively applies a screen-content color transformation on the region of screen content to generate processed video, and the processed video is displayed substantially in real time, for example on a video-see-through head-mounted display. The screen-content color processing may be different for different types of external displays. The screen-content color processing may also be determined based at least in part on illumination conditions. In some embodiments, the color of displayed virtual objects is adjusted based on visual parameters of the screen content.
