  • Patent number: 6039627
Abstract: A game call having a reed disposed inside of a longitudinal tube wherein the reed is manipulatable by a caller's finger. The caller's finger is in one embodiment depressed through and movable along an opening in the tube. The caller's finger is separated by either an inelastic member disposed on the exterior of the tube or an elastic member disposed within the tube. Or in another embodiment, the reed is encircled by a flexible tube of 360 degrees and the caller's fingers are capable of approaching the reed from any direction. In one embodiment, the caller's fingers are permitted to approach the reed in only a limited fashion through a series of relatively small finger-sized orifices disposed over predetermined points along the reed. In yet another embodiment, the caller's fingers are permitted to actually touch the reed without any flexible tube member or skin disposed between the caller's finger and the reed.

  • Patent number: 6036576
Abstract: A light sword toy comprising a tube having a proximal end and a distal end, and a light source located at the proximal end of the tube. The light source directs light into the tube toward the distal end. The tube is made of a translucent material which glows when the light source is activated. A ball is contained within the tube, and is capable of moving between the proximal end and distal end thereof. When the ball is initially at the proximal end, it blocks nearly all of the light from the light source from reaching the distal end. When the ball is subsequently rolled toward the distal end, the illumination appears to travel toward the distal end. A ball retaining mechanism is located at the distal end for holding the ball at the distal end until the end of play. Then the ball is releasable by the user to restore the ball to the proximal end of the tube.

  • Patent number: 6007401
Abstract: The present invention is a control apparatus for guiding toy vehicles on a roadway. Preferably, a remote control hand unit is employed that is most preferably optoelectric. The hand unit includes a plurality of direction keys that transmit signals from the hand unit based on their electronic interconnection with an infrared LED and a laser transmitter in the hand unit. The hand unit transmits directional commands to control movement of a toy vehicle through the intersection of a roadway. These control commands are transmitted via a modulated infrared signal that is received by an infrared sensor adjacent the roadway. Additionally, the hand unit transmits a location laser signal to one of many reception points, i.e., laser detectors, located adjacent each road at an intersection.

  • Patent number: 6000991
Abstract: An amusement device for a helical coil spring toy that generates a response such as sound or light whenever the wave of the helical coil spring changes direction. The amusement device includes two end caps affixed to the two free ends of the coil spring. One of the two end caps is an active end cap which houses the mechanism for generating the response. When the helical coil spring is compressed at the active end cap end a trigger switch activates an integrated circuit thereby producing the desired response. When the wave of compressed coils travels to the passive end cap a second response is produced by a time delay circuit so that user selective alternating responses are produced each time the wave of coils travels from one end cap to the other.

  • Patent number: 5989096
Abstract: A remotely-controllable motorized toy vehicle having a highly-maneuverable skid steering system driven by single or dual motors, having a separately motorized lift device pivotally secured to the chassis of the vehicle operative to lift and transport transportable elements, and also having an automatic tow hitch mechanism. The lift and hitching mechanism is coupled to a motorized lift gear train which provides for the sequential actuation of the lift for lifting and transport of the transportable elements and acutation of the hitch mechanism for hitching and unhitching towed vehicles. The vehicle is constructed with a particular wheel track to wheel base ratio providing improved skid steering as well as enhanced manueverability and stability. The mechanisms and gear trains have proper ratios and dimensions providing for the proper sequence of hitch actuation during upward and downward movement of the lift device whereby the hitch is operative only upon extended upward operation of the lift.
