  • Patent number: 6522229
Abstract: The invention relates to a transformer tank generally shaped like a rectangular prism and filled with insulating liquid and assembled mainly by welding. The tank comprises a detachably fastened transformer cover plate and a transformer core placed in the transformer tank while the cover plate is detached. In accordance with the invention, at least one of the substantially vertical walls of the transformer tank comprises a detachable wall portion whose detachment allows the transformer core to be removed from the transformer tank through an opening formed by the detachment of the wall portion. In this way the transformer can be repaired on site without having to lift the transformer core from the transformer tank in the conventional manner, which would require free space above the transformer.

  • Patent number: 6515566
Abstract: An electronic component is constructed to prevent Cu elution to a solder from a wire, and also prevents the wire from becoming thin and being broken. A chip coil includes electrodes provided at both ends of a core. The electrodes include an underlying metal layer (Ag), a Ni plated layer, and a Sn—Cu plated layer arranged in this sequence from the bottom thereof. Ends of a wire are embedded in the Sn—Cu plated layer of the electrodes by thermal compression bonding.

  • Patent number: 6507261
Abstract: A coil bobbin for a current transformer is provided which requires no adhesive and no eyelets, as well as enables easy fixing of a primary coil to the coil bobbin without an increase in cost. The coil bobbin includes a configuration in which a coil bobbin 1 is formed, at an outer surface of one of flanges 4 thereof, with a primary coil mounting portion 7 and a primary coil fixing portion 8 so as to protrude outwardly. The primary coil mounting portion 7 and the primary coil fixing portion 8 are formed, at both sides thereof, with through holes 9, 9′ through which a pair of legs 3a of a primary coil 3 for detecting electric current extend. The primary coil fixing portion 8 is formed with a window 12 into which a jig is inserted. The window 12 is formed with concave fixing portions 12a.

  • Patent number: 6495781
Abstract: An indicator on a stored energy motor operator indicates that the circuit breaker is “on” when the contacts are closed and the handle is in an on position and when the contacts are open and the handle is in an on position. The indicator only indicates that the circuit breaker is “off” when the contacts are open and the handle is in an off position. To achieve these conditions, the stored energy motor operator includes a flag bearing on and off indicia, the flag attached to one end of a connecting bar, the other end of the connecting bar pivotally connected within the stored energy motor operator. A lever is attached to a central portion of the connecting bar at a spring, the lever including a hook portion for hooking onto a pin within the motor operator. When the contacts are closed, thus indicating an “on” condition, the lever remains hooked onto the pin.

  • Patent number: 6492893
Abstract: A coil includes a toroid with a first gap having a gap width smaller than 1.5 mm. The toroid is at least partly coated with a first polymer. Preferably, the toroid has a second gap which can be coated with a second polymer. This toroid can be manufactured by the method of the invention, which includes providing the gap, subsequently covering the gap and at least neighboring portions of the toroid with a polymer coating, and then providing the second gap.

  • Patent number: 6489877
Abstract: A ceramic inductor component and a composite component are provided having desired properties, superior stability of properties and superior durability. When Ni—Cu—Zn ferrite or Ni—Cu ferrite is used for a magnetic ceramic body constituting an inductor portion, and when the contents of S, Cl and Na contained in the ferrite are set to be in the ranges of about 5 to 150 ppm, about 5 to 150 ppm and about 5 to 100 ppm, respectively, diffusion of an internal conductive metal primarily composed of Ag into the magnetic ceramic body is suppressed, and hence, the degradation of electric properties can be avoided. Accordingly, by facilitating sintering, the insulating resistance of the ceramic is improved, and the durability and reliability of the ceramic inductor component can be improved.
