  • Patent number: 6774758
Abstract: Non-linear inductor(s) are used to reduce the percent total harmonic distortion of the harmonics in the line currents in the input side rectifier system of an ac drive system. Several constructions for the non-linear inductor(s) are described. The non-linear inductor(s) may be constructed from E and I laminations. The gap depends on the construction of the middle leg of the E laminations and may have a step with a constant spacing or a variable spacing which depends on the stacking of the laminations. Alternatively the non-linear inductor(s) may be constructed from a toriodal core that either has a step gap or a variable type gap.

  • Patent number: 6753752
Abstract: A silicon steel core spacing structure for improving induction comprises a shielded copper spacer between the magnetic flux sections of two silicon steel core, and the magnetic reluctance of such copper spacer is relatively low that can guide the traveling path of the magnetic line of force, and thus lower the magnetic flux density passing through the copper spacer. Therefore, the induction outputted from a transformer or a choke coil not only can comply with the safety tests, but also can improve the light-load power and the heavy-load power.

  • Patent number: 6747223
Abstract: A switch device includes (a) a switch arranged on a bottom of a recess, and (b) a waterproof sheet adhered at its outer edge to a wall defining the recess, at a certain height to entirely cover the recess therewith. The waterproof sheet has a first area greater than a cross-sectional area of the recess when the waterproof sheet is in its original planar form. A difference between the first area of the waterproof sheet and the cross-sectional area of the recess allows the switch to be actuated through the waterproof sheet, and disallows moisture to enter the recess through the waterproof sheet. The waterproof sheet is composed of transparent or semi-transparent resin, for instance. The waterproof sheet may be adhered at its outer edge to a summit or a bottom of the wall.

  • Patent number: 6717085
Abstract: A press-button switch is provided which includes a control unit between a press button and a conductive switching element within a housing of the press-button switch. The control unit utilizes a push element and a hook member beneath the press button to push and pull, respectively, against a first and a second actuating element both of which are situated at different planes. Thus, the rotary body of the control unit can continuously rotate at an angle of 180 degrees in a single direction, and the eccentric hole will change its position between an upper point (H) and a lower point (L) in order to move the push-pull rod for displacing the switching element for the on-off control. Moreover, the press-button switch can be smoothly disconnected in off state for ensuring the electric safety in case of overload current.

  • Patent number: 6714113
Abstract: An inductor is integrated in VLSI and ULSI technology products for very high frequency applications. The inductor is in a microstrip transmission line configuration which can be designed in a form of straight line, spiral line or Meander line. The inductor is formed by shorting the microstrip center conductor to the lower level ground plane at one end of the transmission line. This results in an inductance which, for a given design of transmission line, and in a specified frequency range, is independent of frequency, within the operating design range. The microstrip transmission line provides an inductance which could be used on any type of substrate, with either low or high resistivity. The microstrip transmission line could utilize two or all of the metal wiring levels of the technology, allowing a wide range of inductance and quality factor design tradeoffs.
