Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a discharge wall including a discharge port that discharges a sheet; a first roller; a second roller, the first roller and the second roller transferring the sheet toward the discharge port; a discharge tray including a stacking plate that receives the sheet discharged from the discharge port; and an uncurling device configured to be detachably mounted on the image forming apparatus, the uncurling device including: a curl correcting unit that corrects a curl of the sheet discharged from the discharge port by curving the sheet; and a pushing member including an elastic member, the pushing member pushing the second roller toward the first roller by an elastic force of the elastic members in a state where the uncurling device is mounted on the image forming apparatus.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method that relates to paper waste reduction with a point of sale printer. The method comprising, establishing a length of paper available (PA) estimate during loading of paper into a point of sale printer and tracking a length of paper used (PU). The method further comprising, continuously updating the PA by subtracting the PU from the PA, and alerting an operator to replenish paper in the printer in response to the PA being less than a desired length of paper wasted (DPW). Additionally, the method updates the new roll paper available (NRPA) to ensure that the difference between actual paper wasted (APW) and the desired length of paper wasted (DPW) is minimal.

Abstract: In a sticky note printer, a sticky note is peeled off and fed one by one from a bundle of notes set in position. In empty-feed motion, the sticky note is fed in a normal direction from a peel-off position through a sticky note ejecting slot to a pull-out position in which the sticky note protrudes outside the sticky note printer. In feed-back motion, the sticky note is fed in a reverse direction from the pull-out position to a retracted position in which printing can be performed. In feed-again motion, the sticky note is fed in the normal direction from the retracted position to the pull-out position. The empty-feed motion is made when the sticky note has been pulled away from the pull-out position. The feed-back motion or the feed-again motion is made, when an instruction for printing is given, in a manner synchronized with the printing operation.
Abstract: An apparatus for embossing a substrate is provided. The apparatus includes a die with a metal backing layer that carries a polymer layer. The polymer layer has a female pattern formed through laser engraving. The metal backing layer of the die is capable of being magnetically attached to a magnetic cylinder. A counter die is also included and has a metal backing layer that carries a polymer layer. The polymer layer has a male pattern formed thereon through laser engraving. The metal backing layer of the counter die is capable of being magnetically attached to a magnetic cylinder. An alternative apparatus is provided that includes a male and female starting member to aid in aligning the patterns. Another apparatus is included that has male and female register tracts for keeping the die and counter die in register with one another. An associated method is also provided.
Abstract: A driving apparatus includes a driving gear bidirectionally rotatable by a driving source, at least two driven gears selectively driven by the driving gear, at least two swing gears connected to the driving gear to operate in combination with the driving gear and to transmit a driving force of the driving gear to the driven gears, a swing lever pivotally disposed to support the swing gears, and an adjusting unit to adjust a swing position of the swing lever.
Abstract: An ADU is turned around a first hole section that operates as fulcrum and opened by a first angle relative to the lateral side of an apparatus main body when dissolving a jam. The lateral side cover is temporarily taken away from a stationary side plate when maintenance the inside of a color copying machine. Then, a second engaging pin is put into a second hole section to engage the lateral side cover with the stationary side plate. The ADU is turned around the second hole section that operates as fulcrum and opened by a second angle greater than the first angle.
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for indicating paper supply in receipt printers, the system including a paper roll including a core and length of paper that forms a paper portion, the core including a core diameter and the paper portion including a decreasing paper diameter, wherein the core contrasts in color to the paper portion to create a contrast, a scanner configured to sense data pertaining to areas occupied by the core and the paper portion via the contrast, wherein the computing resource is configured to convert the data into measurements of the core diameter and paper diameter, the computing resource being programmable to create alerts when remaining lengths of paper are left on the paper roll, the remaining lengths corresponding to low paper conditions of the paper roll, and being calculated by measurements pertaining to the core diameter, decreasing paper diameter, and a thickness of the paper.

Abstract: A pad printing system includes a pad printing machine and an object positioning device. The object positioning device is a multiple positioning device by means of which an object support may be consecutively positioned at a print station each time.
Abstract: This format adaptation sleeve for a rotary press comprises an outer surface. In the non-mounted state, the outer surface of the adaptation sleeve is frustoconical.
Abstract: A method of exchanging printing units at a running rotary printing press, wherein a first printing unit is withdrawn from the printing medium, and a second printing unit for printing the same image with the same register is set against the printing medium, includes the steps of applying to the printing cylinder of the second printing unit, prior to start of the printing operation, a register printing block elevated relative to the regular printing block; prior to changeover of the printing units, setting the second printing unit against the printing medium such that register marks print with the register printing block without an image printing with the regular printing block; detecting register marks and adjusting the second printing unit register by reference to the detected register mark; and with the register adjusted, exchanging the printing units by withdrawing the first printing unit and setting the second printing unit.
