Abstract: Systems and methods relating to improving the experience of gig-economy workers are disclosed, with particular reference to gig-economy work involving vehicle use. During or after performance of gig-economy work, data automatically collected may be used to generate and present recommendations or education points to gig-economy workers. Such recommendations may include targeted alerts to notify gig-economy workers of high-demand situations or to coordinate between gig-economy workers and gig-economy customers. Alerts may be generated based upon current excess demand for gig-economy services, as well as gig-economy worker availability and preferences. For example, alerts may be generated in response to detecting emergency conditions in an area in order to mobilize a large number of gig-economy transportation service providers.

  • Patent number: 11900281
Abstract: In an example, a method for optimizing energy loading in airline operations is described. The method includes receiving a flight plan of an aircraft indicative of a plurality of landing sites and a corresponding plurality of flight legs. The method includes determining an energy load of the aircraft associated with each flight leg. The energy load corresponds to an amount of fuel used during the flight leg. The method includes calculating a fuel value score for refueling the aircraft at a landing site of each flight leg. The fuel value score relates to a refueling estimate at the landing site and a time for refueling at the landing site. The method includes determining a fueling plan based at least on the energy load of the aircraft at each flight leg and the fuel value score for refueling the aircraft at the landing site of each flight leg.

  • Patent number: 11842310
Abstract: A risk assessment system is provided and includes a transceiver, an output device, and activity, localization, tracking, and risk assessment modules. The activity module: receives signals from sensors or electrical devices of a supporting structure; and tracks activities in or within a set distance of the supporting structure to generate an activity history log. The localization module relates the activities to aspects of the supporting structure and generates corresponding localization data. The transceiver receives a notification key identifying a network device used by a user exposed to a contaminant. The tracking module, in response to the notification key, tracks contamination states of the aspects of the supporting structure contacted directly or indirectly by the user. The risk assessment module determines and reports an exposure risk level of an occupant of the supporting structure based on the contamination states, the localization data and the activity history log.

  • Patent number: 11816622
Abstract: Personnel evaluation based on crowdsourcing concepts. An approach to personnel evaluation is described that uses crowd-sourced data and an iterative approach. Individual personnel evaluators are themselves evaluated and assigned weighting factors based on their acumen and accuracy with regard to personnel evaluation. Personnel evaluations are provided by each personnel evaluator, who collectively form a crowdsourcing crowd, and weighted according to each evaluator's assigned weighting factor. The crowd-sourced weighted-averages from all evaluators are combined and used periodically and iteratively to evaluate the individual crowdsourcing participants and to re-calculate their individual weighting factors. The approach provides more accurate and more directed personnel evaluations as compared to simple arithmetic averaging of crowd-sourced data, and is improved with each iteration over time.

  • Patent number: 11816598
Abstract: Scheduling and provisioning transportation by a controlled-environment facility resident may employ a controlled-environment facility resident communication and/or media device, which requests and accepts identification information, from a controlled-environment facility resident operating the device, and verifies the identification information. The device then presents a controlled-environment facility transportation interface, via which the device accepts input or selection of a date and time from the resident for pick-up of a party and a destination of the party. The device may then interface with a transportation provider computer system, or the like, and schedule the pick-up of the party at the input or selected date and time for transportation to the destination. The transportation is paid for from one or more controlled-environment facility trust accounts maintained by the controlled-environment facility to the benefit of the controlled-environment facility resident.

  • Patent number: 11763396
Abstract: Users invite friends and family to participate in an automated memory reminder and personal social network system. The personal social network comprises a smart mobile communications client device and administration panel trending algorithms called Not So Forgetful (NSF). NSF distinguishes by assisting in light and heavy reminders. NSF helps users to remember important dates and get recommendations such as events, gifts and/or social engagements with a reminder system personal to the users and runs on a processor of the smart client device. A cloud-based administration panel server, databases and search engines assist in heavy reminders with an individual diagnosed with a memory deficiency with recorded memories. For light reminders, there is a list for things to do varying from week to week. Algorithms utilize NSF network internal and external data to develop top trending gift, social engagement lists and a depository supporting trending/memory assistance algorithms.
