  • Patent number: 11486271
Abstract: An adjustable mount for an aircraft engine accessory. A first bracket adapted to be coupled to the engine accessory has a first bore with a first annular bushing with a threaded radially inner surface extending through the first bore. A second bracket operatively coupled to the engine at mounting location has a second bore with a second annular bushing with a threaded radially inner surface extending through the second bore. A threaded stud extends axially through the first and second bushings and is engaged with their threaded inner surfaces. Rotation of the first and/or second bushings varies the relative axial positions of the first and second bushings on the stud, thereby adjusting an axial gap between first and second brackets. First and second nuts fastened to first and second ends of the threaded stud axially retain the mount together with the axial gap between the first and second brackets fixed.

  • Patent number: 11480062
Abstract: A stator vane includes an airfoil having an airfoil shape. The airfoil shape has a nominal profile substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z set forth in one of Table I, Table II, Table III, Table IV, Table V, Table VI, Table VII, or Table VIII. The Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z are non-dimensional values from 0% to 100% convertible to dimensional distances expressed in a unit of distance by multiplying the Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z by a scaling factor of the airfoil in the unit of distance. The X and Y values, when connected by smooth continuing arcs, define airfoil profile sections at each Z value. The airfoil profile sections at Z values are joined smoothly with one another to form a complete airfoil shape.

  • Patent number: 11473446
Abstract: A turbocharger assembly including a housing, a shaft, and turbine and compressor wheels mounted on opposite ends of the shaft. The shaft is rotatably supported within the housing by a bearing cartridge that includes turbine-side and compressor side ball-bearing assemblies that are longitudinally spaced by a spacer. There are two times as many rows of ball-bearings included in the turbine-side ball-bearing assembly compared to the compressor-side ball-bearing assembly. The spacer slides over and rotates with the shaft and has at least one flat. An optical sensor extends through the housing and an optical sensor opening in the bearing cartridge to prevent the bearing cartridge from rotating within the housing. The optical sensor detects rotational speed of the spacer by counting the number of times the flat(s) passes by the optical sensor during a pre-determined time interval.

  • Patent number: 11459903
Abstract: In the turbine of a gas turbine engine, disk cavities exist between stator and rotor assemblies. These disk cavities enable hot gas from the hot gas flow path to ingress between the stator and rotor assemblies with detrimental effects to the durability of the turbine. Thus, a flow discourager is disclosed that can be mounted to the stator assembly. The flow discourager comprises a continuous external surface that defines a recirculation zone within the disk cavities to circulate the hot gas back out into the hot gas flow path.
