  • Patent number: 11193692
Abstract: An HVAC system includes a controller configured to receive weather forecast information including anticipated future outdoor temperatures. Based at least in part on the weather forecast information, the controller determines that test-initiation criteria are satisfied for testing operation of the HVAC system in a test mode. In response to determining that the test-initiation criteria are satisfied, the controller determines that current weather conditions are suitable for operating the HVAC system in the test mode for a test time period. The HVAC system is operated in the test mode for the test time period. Following operation of the HVAC system in the test mode for the test time period, the controller determines whether a predefined change in an indoor air temperature is achieved. If the predefined change in the indoor air temperature is achieved, the test is passed. Otherwise, the test is failed.

  • Patent number: 11181886
Abstract: A robot system is configured to fabricate three-dimensional (3D) objects using closed-loop, computer vision-based control. The robot system initiates fabrication based on a set of fabrication paths along which material is to be deposited. During deposition of material, the robot system captures video data and processes that data to determine the specific locations where the material is deposited. Based on these locations, the robot system adjusts future deposition locations to compensate for deviations from the fabrication paths. Additionally, because the robot system includes a 6-axis robotic arm, the robot system can deposit material at any locations, along any pathway, or across any surface. Accordingly, the robot system is capable of fabricating a 3D object with multiple non-parallel, non-horizontal, and/or non-planar layers.

  • Patent number: 11181872
Abstract: A system for optimizing machine performance includes an optimization system and a data processing system. The data processing system records readings from data sources monitoring the performance of a machine and related aspects. The readings are processed at the optimization system and a machine learning model is trained to differentiate between data corresponding to an interval of optimal runtime performance and data corresponding to an interval of pre-error performance. The trained model is used to identify a subset of the various data sources that are most-predictive for a particular performance state of the machine, such as a pre-error performance state or an optimal runtime performance state. The subset of the various data sources are provided to a multivariate model for generating set-point recommendations for each of the most-predictive data sources.

  • Patent number: 11143425
Abstract: An HVAC system includes a blower configured to provide a flow of air into a conditioned space. A temperature sensor measures a discharge air temperature of the flow of air provided to the conditioned space. A controller of the HVAC system determines that heating or cooling mode operation is not requested. Following this determination, the blower provides the flow of air at a predefined flow rate. The controller determines that the measured discharge air temperature satisfies predefined stability criteria associated with a change in the discharge air temperature during the first period of time being less than a threshold value. If the stability criteria are satisfied, a temperature offset is determined between the discharge air temperature and an indoor temperature. The temperature offset is stored in a lookup table such that the temperature offset is associated with the flow rate of air provided by the blower and the outdoor temperature.
