  • Patent number: 9832831
Abstract: An electric light and external light control system for a space with a dual-mode light sensor is proposed. The dual-mode light sensor (106) measures and computes the amount of external light and electrical light incident on its sensing surface. The individual measured light components (total light, electric light and external light) are transmitted to the window treatment controller (103) and the electric light controller (102). The controllers (102, 103) use this information to optimally control the lighting condition to meet user requirements and reduce energy consumption. Both controllers (102, 103) operate concurrently and independently, but are linked via the dual-mode sensor (106).

  • Patent number: 9807838
Abstract: Systems and methods providing a downloadable custom light emitting diode (LED) blinking pattern for a controller, which performs backplane or enclosure management. The controller has a memory, which stores data of a standard LED blinking pattern. When no custom LED blinking pattern data is available in the memory, the controller controls the LEDs to perform a standard blinking pattern based on the standard LED blinking pattern data to indicate the of the storage drives. A user may generate a custom pattern file, which contains custom LED blinking pattern data, and then use a downloading tool to download the custom pattern file to the controller, such that the memory of the controller may store the custom LED blinking pattern data. Instead of using the standard LED blinking pattern, the controller may then control the LEDs to perform a custom blinking pattern based on the custom LED blinking pattern data.

  • Patent number: 9791631
Abstract: An electrical wiring device includes a manually adjustable switch, a light emitting diode (LED), a light level sensor, and a microcontroller. The wiring device also optionally includes an occupancy sensor. Light level is sensed through a light pipe and light is emitted by the LED through the same light pipe. When the manually adjustable switch is positioned to energize a load, the LED is deactivated and ambient light level is sensed by light sensors through the light pipe. The ambient light level is compared to a minimum ambient light level to determine if the load will be energized. Alternatively, the LED is deactivated and the ambient light level is sensed through the light pipe when the switch is positioned to de-energize the load. This ambient light level is stored and compared to the minimum ambient light level at a time when the switch is later positioned to energize the load.
