  • Patent number: 9569328
Abstract: Applications and their application components run on a cloud platform and an underlying cloud runtime infrastructure. The cloud platform provides a service that exposes an interface to remotely change log levels of logger objects defined in application components. The application logs are generated and stored for the application components on the cloud runtime infrastructure of the cloud platform. Log levels affect the content stored in the application logs. The exposed interface is instantiated to process remote requests for managing application logs and log levels for a specified application component. The application component is deployed on the cloud platform. The requested change in the log levels is performed based on the implementation of the interface. The change in the log levels is performed in the configuration data on the cloud runtime infrastructure provided by the cloud platform.

  • Patent number: 9462022
Abstract: Technology is disclosed herein for migrating at least portions of computer applications to a server. According to at least one embodiment, a computing device identifies a service component of a computer application executed at the computing device. The service component does not directly interact with a user of the computing device. The computing device transfers an instance of the service component to a server so that the service component can be executed at the server. The computing device then receives from the server a result message generated by the instance of the service component executed at the server. The computing device feeds the result message to a user interface component of the computer application via a procedure call such that the user interface component retrieves the result message as if it were generated by an instance of the service component executed at the computing device.

  • Patent number: 9401812
Abstract: A presence system is used to monitor the presence state of an electronic message originated by a sender and addressed to a recipient. The presence system includes a presence user agent and a presence server. The presence user agent is coupled to a communication network to receive the electronic message, register the electronic message with the presence server as a message presentity, determine presence information for the message presentity and provide the presence information to the presence server. The presence information defines a presence state of the message, in which the presence state identifies a processing state of the electronic message by the recipient. The presence server is also coupled to the communication network to provide the presence information in real-time to watchers of the message presentity.

  • Patent number: 9398073
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention relates to the transfer of content between a host computer that issues OAS access requests and a block I/O storage system. Specifically, a host computer may issue an access request for a content unit that identifies the content unit is an object identifier. The request may be received by a second server, which may determine the block address(es) on the block I/O storage system at which the content unit is stored. A request may then be sent to the block I/O storage system to retrieve the content stored at the requested block address(es) and the block I/O storage system may return the content.

  • Patent number: 9385914
Abstract: A client updates a display of a user interface associated with a state-based client-server application in accordance with a client-side cache. The server supplies data for a new state and additional data for one or more subsequent states that possibly follow the new state if appropriate one or more operations are performed. When a client request is generated that indicates an operation that causes the application to transition to the new state, the client updates the display in accordance with the data that corresponds to the new state from the client-side cache, if available from the client-side cache. The new state data is available since the server has previously supplied the new state data.

  • Patent number: 9323860
Abstract: An object request associated with a requesting entity can be identified. The object request can comprise of an object identifier and an object type associated with an object instance which can be a renderable entity. The entity can be a widget within an application executing within a client device. An object type associated with the object request can be determined which can be decomposed into an attribute request based a selected schema. The attribute request can comprise of an object instance identifier and an attribute identifier associated with an attribute value. An attribute index associated with a client-side object cache can be queried for the attribute value. When the attribute value exists in the attribute index, an appropriate attribute value associated with the attribute can be conveyed to the entity. When the attribute value is absent from the attribute index, the attribute request can be conveyed to a request aggregator.

  • Patent number: 9292612
Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and using a domain profile include identifying a status of a first page associated with a domain. The first page is retrieved and additional pages from the domain are identified based on hyperlinks from the first page. The status of the additional pages is identified and the hyperlinks are prioritized based on the status and/or a comparison with predetermined data. Content is extracted from the first page and selected pages from among the additional pages. The specific additional pages may be selected based on the prioritization. The retrieved content may be processed through a signature marker set to determine a contextual match. A purpose of the domain is determined according to the status of the first page, the status of the additional pages and results of the processing of the content. The domain profile can be displayed, stored, sent and/or searched to identify web sites or attributes of interest.

  • Patent number: 9270533
Abstract: A network management device sends an SNMP multi-cast GET on a network to discover all the network devices on the network or subnet. The network management device builds a Management Information Base (MIB) based on the responses received from the SNMP multi-cast GET. The MIB information is then sent to a Network Management System (NMS). The SNMP multi-cast GET can be sent based on a command to discover network devices on the network or can be sent based on a polling algorithm. The system and method also include the ability to send an SNMP multi-cast SET to set the same parameter(s) on all the devices on the network/subnet.
