Abstract: The present technology is a graphical user interface for a video recording system and method of recording a video while applying special effects in real time prior to and/or while recording. The interface is associated with an electronic device including a processor in communication with a camera and a memory unit. Inputs from the interface are utilized by the processing unit to determine if the native speed rate of the raw video data is to be changed, and if so then modifies at least one frame in the raw video data to create a modified video data at a modified speed rate that is different to the native speed rate. The system then generates an output video feed that is displayed in the graphical user interface. This allows for the continuous recording of video from the camera or video feed at different speed rates without altering camera operations or settings.

Abstract: A portable electronic device with image capturing capabilities automatically or semi-automatically adjusts one or more image capturing parameters based on an input attribute of user engagement with a single-action haptic input mechanism. For example, the duration for which a single-action control button carried on a frame of the device is pressed automatically determines an image stabilization mode for on-board processing of captured image data. In one example, an above-threshold press duration automatically activates a less rigorous image stabilization mode, while button release before expiry of the threshold automatically activates a more rigorous photo stabilization mode.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus connected to an image capture apparatus receives an image capture instruction for requesting the image capture apparatus to perform image capture processing, in response to a user operation. If the image capture instruction is received, the electronic apparatus performs control to display a first image recorded by the image capture apparatus performing the image capture processing according to a capture request based on the image capture instruction from the electronic apparatus on a screen without a second image recorded by the image capture apparatus automatically performing the image capture processing according to satisfying a predetermined condition for automatic capturing. If the image capture instruction is not received, the electronic apparatus performs control to display both the first image and the second image on the screen.

Abstract: A compensating timer system and method utilizable with video data featuring sections of different playback or recording speeds. The compensating timer system can be utilized with a user interface associated with and displayable thereon. The user interface can include a video display region configured or configurable to display video data, and an animated time indicator. The animated time indicator can be dependent on a modified playing speed of the video data that changes between different first and second speed rates. The first speed rate can be changed to the second speed rate upon receipt of an input associated with an affordance, by modifying at least one frame in the video data. This allows for continuous recording and/or displaying of video at different speed rates without altering operations or settings. The animated time indicator can be an animated affordance, an animated progress bar, an elapsed timer and/or a time remaining clock.
Abstract: An image sensor includes an imaging device, an optical system including a liquid lens to form an image of a subject on an imaging surface of the imaging device, and a controller that performs a refractive power control process of adjusting an application voltage applicable to the liquid lens to control a refractive power of the liquid lens, and a recognition process of analyzing image data from the imaging device to recognize predetermined information about the subject. The controller is operable in a plurality of operation modes each with a different wait period from a change in the application voltage to the liquid lens in response to the refractive power control process to a start of the recognition process.

The image capture device may communicate with the computing device over the physical connection using a wireless communication protocol.
Abstract: A video gateway device at a worksite (or other location) is coupled to multiple cameras on a network, such as multiple cameras at a business site. The gateway device determines video stream capabilities of each camera and, based on the capabilities, determines whether any additional video steams need to be created for particular cameras. For example, for cameras that provide only a high-resolution video stream, the gateway will generate (e.g., via downsampling) a standard-resolution video stream for artificial intelligence (“AI”) analysis and a low-resolution video stream for viewing by a user. However, for cameras that provide both a high and standard-resolution video stream, the gateway device uses the camera-provided standard-resolution video stream for AI analysis, rather than generating a new video stream on the gateway device.

Abstract: A data processing system for aggregating, tagging and distributing unstructured data as structured data in real time and methods for manufacturing and using same. A camera for capturing photographic images is deployed at a selected event and, upon capturing an image of one or more event attendees, associates the image with native metadata. The native metadata includes attendee contact information for enabling the camera to send the image to the attendee in real time. The camera likewise sends the image and native metadata to a content processing system, which separates the raw image data from the native metadata and utilizes the native metadata to identify additional derived metadata for the image. By aggregating images from multiple events and tagging the images with the native and derived metadata, the data processing system advantageously can store the unstructured images in content wrappers as structured data for facilitating later distribution.
