Abstract: A travel kit used for inhibiting and reducing the incidence and effect of insect bites. The kit includes a pouch for enclosing a plurality of containers therein. The pouch has a closure means to maintain the containers in the pouch and a means for removably attaching the pouch to a person. The plurality of containers includes a first container containing at least one oral tablet comprising an effective amount of niacin (vitamin B-3) or its corresponding amide for inhibiting or reducing the incidence of insect bites. A second container is provided which contains a soap composition that includes an effective antimicrobial compound that when applied to a bite area of a person's skin that has an insect bite disinfects such bite area. A third container contains a mud composition that includes an effective amount of a clay that when applied to the bite area reduces the swelling, inflammation or itching of the bite area.
Abstract: An aqueous agrochemical composition and in particular an agrochemical concentrate comprises (a) a non-encapsulated aqueous solution or dispersion of an agrochemical and (b) a suspension in said aqueous solution or dispersion of a microencapsulated liquid, water-insoluble, bioperformance-enhancing adjuvant for said agrochemical. The adjuvant suitably has little or no surfactant properties. The invention permits oil adjuvants such as “Turbocharge” and “Brij 92” to be built into agrochemical compositions with which they would normally be incompatible. With certain adjuvants reduced phytotoxicity may be observed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to post-treatment compositions and methods useful for modifying the distribution of metal biocide(s) in biodegradable substrates such as wood, other cellulosic products, starch-based products, and the like that are vulnerable to decay due to insects, fungi, microbes, and the like. The compositions include complexing agents of moderate strength that are able to facilitate mobilization and redistribution of metal biocide(s) in substrates without undue leaching. The compositions can be used, for example, to redistribute the metal biocide(s) into depleted regions of a substrate by redistribution of metal biocide from other regions of the substrate. Post-treatment compositions that include additional metal biocide can also replenish these regions with the freshly supplied, additional biocide. Thus, the depleted regions can be restored by redistribution and/or replenishment mechanisms. Service life of substrates in the field benefits by these post-treatments as a consequence.

Abstract: Use of a carbon dioxide-supplying means for muscle strengthening makes it possible conveniently to strengthen a target muscle within a short period of time merely by allowing the target site to absorb carbon dioxide without loading any mechanical burden on the target muscle. By loading a mechanical burden on the target muscle, the muscle strengthening effect can be further enhanced and an additional effect of promoting the recovery from muscle fatigue can be achieved owing to the mechanical burden. By using the carbon dioxide-supplying means for muscle strengthening as described above, it is also possible to increase cattle meat.
