  • Patent number: 11268787
Abstract: A sighting system comprising light-emitting rear sighting indicators in which a set of rear sighting indicators disposed on or near the hammer end of a firearm, and, optionally, a front sighting indicator that comprises a brightly colored dot or fiber-optic sighting indicator. The rear sighting indicators may comprise fiber-optic elements that channel light energy towards the user's eye. In use, when the user brings the firearm to a firing position, the user's eyes and mind are able to quickly acquire the light-emitting rear indicators and subconsciously aim the firearm at an intended target, or to point the firearm in a desired direction. Thus, the fast acquiring firearm sighting system enables a firearm to be quickly aimed and fired. The use of the fast acquiring firearm sighting system of the invention reduces the processing load on the user's eyes and brain and makes aiming the firearm intuitive and instant.

  • Patent number: 11236960
Abstract: A firearm has a trigger shield that is a protective loop surrounding a first and second switch of the firearm and the switches actuate the function of the firearm when activated by a finger to start the firing process. The first switch is on a first side of the protective loop and the second switch is on a second side of the protective loop. The protective loop is vertically aligned having the first and second switches on respective shorter sides of the protective loop. The firearm further has a first emitter mounted on the trigger shield that propagates a first light beam to a first receiver mounted on an opposite side of the trigger shield and a second emitter mounted on the trigger shield that propagates a second light beam to a second receiver mounted on an opposite side of the trigger shield. When a finger depresses one of the switches, his/her finger is blocking the light beam and the firearm will not activate and when the finger is moved away from the light beam, the firearm discharges.

  • Patent number: 11231252
Abstract: A human transported weapon is comprised of a barrel, computational logic, selection logic, targeting location logic, positioning logic, and, trigger activation logic. The barrel fires munitions therefrom. The computational logic, identifies targets within range of an area of sighting of the human transported weapon as available target. The selection logic determines a selected target from the available targets, responsive to computational logic. The targeting location logic determines a target location of the selected target at a firing time. The positioning logic, positions the aim of the human transported weapon, responsive to computational logic, so that the munitions will strike the selected target when fired at the firing time. The trigger activation logic provides a trigger signal to activate firing of the munitions at the firing time. In one embodiment, the trigger signal is responsive to a user input.

  • Patent number: 11226185
Abstract: An adaptive projectile for small caliber firearms includes preformed submunition elements deployed in a radiating pattern by a spreader upon impact with a soft target, such as the body of an assailant. But when initial impact is with an intermediate hard obstacle, a pressure-sensitive link disables the spreader so that the submunition elements will not deploy but instead become locked into a unitary, monolithic body capable of penetrating the hard obstacle. The nose of the projectile is a hollow ballistic penetrator that restrains the submunition elements upon impact with a hard object. The submunition elements rest on a base. For protection inside the gun barrel and during flight, the adaptive projectile is partially wrapped by a thin jacket that fractures and/or peals away upon impact with a soft target.

  • Patent number: 11221194
Abstract: An integrated architecture and its associated sensors and processing software subsystems are defined and developed allowing a conventional unguided bullet to be transformed into a guided bullet without the use of an on-board inertial measurement unit (IMU). Some important SW components of the present disclosure include a target state estimator (TSE); a bullet state estimator (BSE); Multi-Object Tracking and Data Association; NTS GL; and a Data Link. Pre-conversion of two angles and range information of an OI sensor from spherical coordinates into Cartesian coordinates eliminates the Jacobian dependency in the H matrix for the BSE, thus increasing the miss distance performance accuracy of the bullet target engagement system.
