Abstract: An absorbent agent is provided. The absorbent agent is particularly for separating carbon dioxide from the flue gas of a fossil-fired combustion device. The absorbent agent comprises a two-component mixture including a free amino acid and an amino acid salt, wherein the free amino acid exhibits a surplus compared to the amino acid salt based on the molar concentration. This creates variability in the PCBN value, which may be attained through different absorption and desorption process temperatures. A method for manufacturing the absorbent agent is also provided.
Abstract: The present invention concerns the use as perfuming ingredient of 4-dimethoxymethyl-1,3-dimethyl-1-cyclohexene in the form of any one of its stereoisomers or a mixture thereof, for instance to impart odor notes of the grapefruit and floral type.
Abstract: Compositions to treat surfaces to affect materials deposited on such surfaces and methods of treating surfaces with such compositions to affect such deposition materials.
Abstract: A refrigerant composition consists essentially of three hydrofluorocarbon components selected from HFC134a, HFC125 and HFC143a and an additive selected from a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon or mixture thereof boiling in the range ?50° C. and +40° C.
Abstract: The invention relates to a heat transfer method that uses a composition containing from 60 to 95 wt % of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and from 5 to 40 wt % of at least one hydrocarbon selected from n-pentane, isopentane and cyclopentane. The invention more particularly relates to a heat transfer method that successively includes the step of evaporating a refrigerant fluid, a compression step, the step of condensing said fluid at a temperature higher than or equal to 35° C., and preferably between 70° C. and 140° C., and the step of expanding said fluid, characterized in that the refrigerant fluid includes from 60 to 95 wt % of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and from 5 to 40 wt % of at least one hydrocarbon selected from n-pentane, isopentane and cyclopentane.
Abstract: The invention relates to binary compositions of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and difluoromethane, as a heat transfer fluid in compression, low-temperature and average temperature refrigeration systems, with exchangers operating in counterflow mode or in split flow mode with counterflow tendency. The invention also relates to a heat transfer method.
Abstract: Safe, stable, non-toxic and recyclable cooling compositions comprising solid particulate compounds that undergo an endothermic process when mixed with water such that the resulting mixture is useful for cooling surfaces, liquids and solids. The compositions always include one or more compounds from a group consisting of endothermic compounds that contain potassium; one or more compounds from a group of endothermic compounds that contain nitrogen; and at least one compound from a group consisting of ammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate, ammonium polyphosphate, ammonium pyrophosphate and ammonium metaphosphate such that the compound or mixture of compounds in this group is at least 1% by weight of the final composition.
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel pyrimidine derivatives and their use in perfume compositions. The novel pyrimidine derivatives of the present invention are represented by the following formula: wherein m and n are integers of 0 or 1, with the proviso that when m is 0, n is 1 and when m is 1, n is 0; and wherein the dashed circle represents either single or double bonds.
