Abstract: A hydraulic base-load motor (M1) drives a load with the working pressure generated at the motor rising with the load. When the working pressure reaches an upper limit pressure, a hydraulic stand-by motor (M2) is switched on. Since the pressure drops upon switching on the stand-by motor, the control device is designed such that, upon reaching a lower limit pressure, it deactivates the stand-by motor again, the lower limit pressure being less than half the upper limit pressure. This switching hysteresis prevents a repeated switching over of the stand-by motor.
Abstract: A moving bin sorter has a plurality of sheet receiving trays supported for shifting movement to enlarge the space between adjacent trays at a sheet entry location to facilitate the feeding of successive sheets forming a set of sheets into the successive trays. The trays are formed to allow a portion of a stapler to be moved from a non-stapling position to a position for stapling a set of sheets in the successive trays while displacing the previously stapled sets in their respective trays with another portion of the stapler to enable positioning of the stapler in its operative position to staple a set of sheets. The stapler may be mounted for movement relative to the successive trays for applying staples at more than one location in each set.

Abstract: An airless hand held hydraulic pump unaffected by gravity continuously maintains pressure on the fluid in a dynamic reservoir chamber to enable pumping into a dynamic pressure chamber for actuating a forcing rod irrespective of the orientation of the pump. A release valve permits fluid return from the pressure chamber into the reservoir chamber. The pump can be fitted with a tool such as a door forcer.
Abstract: Each of the pockets (3), which are arranged at regular distances apart and are moveable along an endless path, is provided with two vertically adjustable stops (14, 15) for the printed product (12) placed into the pocket (3). The stops (14, 15) are mounted displaceably in a pocket carrier (8). Within the pocket carrier (8) there is horizontally arranged a slide (18) which has two elongated openings (19, 20) of slight inclination to the horizontal. A projection (21, 22) on each stop (14, 15) is guided in the corresponding opening (19, 20) of the slide (18). A displacement of the slide (18) accordingly effects a vertical displacement of the stops (14, 15). A guide member (28) which is displaceable in the direction of the slide (18) on a carrier (29) fixed to the machine has a guide groove (32) for a projection (27) arranged on the protruding end of the slide (18).
Abstract: In a master cylinder, a communicating passage is formed in a piston guide which is disposed in a cylinder housing so that the communication passage is in communication with the through hole in said piston guide for supplying oil, and an annular spacer is interposed between the annular seal disposed at the side of the piston guide and the piston guide, an annular spacer which has a plurality of projections protruding outward from the external surface at intervals, so that the annular spacer is positioned in the cylinder housing with the projections of the annular spacer abutting the internal surface of the cylinder housing, and an oil passage is formed between the external surface of the annular spacer excluding the projections and the internal surface of the cylinder housing.
Abstract: A piston, e.g. for an internal combustion engine, comprises a crown (16) and a skirt (12). The skirt (12) has an aperture (22) in which an insert (14) of a different material from the remainder of the skirt is secured. The insert (14) may be of plastics material injection moulded into a metal skirt. The insert (14) provides a plurality of pads (34) which extend from a thrust surface of the skirt so that the pads can transmit lateral forces and cause lubricant to be forced over the pads by hydrodynamic action during reciprocation of the piston.
Abstract: A hydraulic fluid Pressure-operated actuator comprises a first cylinder assembly having an output which operatively carries a second cylinder assembly such that an axial output force is effected from an output shaft of the second cylinder assembly, the output from the second cylinder assembly is a fast forward output stroke which is followed by a greatly increased high pressure force generated by the first cylinder assembly and effected through the output shaft of the second cylinder assembly.
Abstract: An apparatus for controllably actuating at least two hydraulic actuator is provided. The apparatus controllably provides pressurized hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic actuators through closed center spool valves. The apparatus receives operating signals and a pump pressure signal and responsively controls the output of a variable flow pump. In a first mode, the output flow of the pump is a function of the operating signals and the pump pressure signal. In a second mode, the output flow of the pump is a function of the operating signals alone.
Abstract: A sorting apparatus of linkage type, which sorts a plurality of recorded sheets which are ejected from an image forming apparatus. The apparatus has at least two sorters, a plurality of bins and a stapling unit in each sorter respectively to store a stack of recorded sheets sorted as a copy set and to staple each stack of recorded sheets and guide means to guide each recorded sheet to a bin of a sorter allocated by controlling means. The controlling means selects at least two sorters for making the copy sets larger in number then a predetermined number. The second sorter receives sheets even though some trays of the first sorter are left unused.
Abstract: Folded printed products, held at the fold thereof by clamps, are fed to an opening device. This opening device comprises grippers, each gripper having a stationary gripper jaw and a movable gripper jaw which delimit a slide gap in the closed position of the movable gripper jaw. Along this slide gap there is displaceable a pusher member for the purpose of pushing out of the slide gap the printed product gripped at its open-edge region by the respective gripper. The pusher member thereby acts upon a marginal lap of a first product portion which protrudes beyond the other or second product portion. By virtue of the pre-bending of the printed products, the second product portion is entrained during pushing action at the first product portion and, as a beneficial result of such bending, lifts off from the first product portion upon leaving the slide gap, the marginal lap of the first product portion still being guided in the slide gap.
Abstract: The invention relates to a profiled tube for working cylinders without a piston rod having a cylinder chamber which extends in longitudinal direction and a piston guided movably therein and connected to pull means, and a carriage connected to the pull means and guided in a slide guide arranged on the profiled tube.

Abstract: In a sheet feeding apparatus, e.g. a collator, comprising a variable plurality of modules (12a, 12b, 12c, 14') stacked one above another, and each incorporating a sheet storage station (14), means are provided for directing sheets (15) from said stations in a requested sequence laterally and downwardly into a common transmission path to below the lowest module (12a). A power pack (18) for the whole stack is mounted above the uppermost module.
Abstract: When a hydraulic circuit for driving actuators of a construction machine or the like includes a single hydraulic pump and a plurality of direction changeover valves connected to the hydraulic pump for controlling the respective actuators, operation of one of the direction changeover valves may result in undesirable change in the output oil pressure of the other direction changeover valves. The inventive hydraulic circuit includes means for driving a regulator of the hydraulic pump in response to any oil puressure change at the inlets of the direction changeover valves corresponding to the output oil pressure change, thereby compensating for the pressure change.
Abstract: A transfer conveyor for conveying an article. The conveyor has an article-receiving end and an article-releasing end. An article is moved from the article-receiving end to the article-releasing end by a plurality of moving belts. The article is placed between the belts. A mechanism supplies an article to the article-receiving end and an article-removing mechanism is provided to remove the article from the article-releasing end.
Abstract: An imaging device is provided utilizing a continuous-form recording sheet (i.e., continuous-form sheeting), having a plurality of transverse perforations at predetermined intervals of length, on which the desired image is formed. At least an oscillating member which is driven by a rotating shaft is provided for oscillating continuous-form sheeting discharged from the imaging device. The oscillation caused by the oscillating member forwardly propagates the sheeting toward the imaging device. The continuous-form sheet is alternately and accurately folded at the transverse perforations in opposite directions, and stacked in a vertical direction between two folding positions as the continuous-form sheeting is discharged from the imaging device.
Abstract: A torque convertor having a tubular toroidal member constituted by a pump, a turbine and a stator is so dimensioned that sufficient room is provided to accommodate associated components without sacrificing performance standards. In particular, since the cross sectional area of the flow passage of the stator, wherein eddies tend to generate and power transmission loss due to fluid collision increases, is larger in proportions to the cross sectional area of either the pump or the turbine the fluid turbulence is reduced.
Abstract: An actuator for a friction clutch having a diaphragm includes coupling means comprising a first part associated with the clutch actuating linkage, and a second part associated with the actuator proper. The actuator, of the fluid operated type, comprises a main piston working in a main cylinder and defining with it a control chamber. A secondary piston works within the hollow bore of the main piston to define within the latter a wear compensating chamber. The main piston carries a shut-off valve for bringing the control chamber and the wear compensation chamber into communication with each other when the clutch is in its engaged position. The actuator also includes a booster spring for applying additional force to the diaphragm, such that the characteristic of the diaphragm has a positive gradient over the whole travel between the engaged and disengaged positions of the clutch.
