Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for allocating advertising budgets. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a set of candidate keywords specifying targeting keywords for content items. Each targeting keyword can be a phrase to be matched for a content item to be eligible to be provided in response to a content item request. For each of the targeting keywords, a probability distribution specifying likelihoods of specified user actions occurring in response to a content item is received. Based on the probability distributions, a set of final keywords with which distribution of the content items will be controlled is selected, the set of final keywords being one or more keywords for which a likelihood of a specified outcome occurring exceeds a threshold likelihood. The set of final keywords is a set which a total cost of distributing the content items is below a specified value.

Abstract: A method and system for associating an advertisement with a web page are disclosed. Web pages associated with potential queries may be identified using a search engine. A mapping operation may be performed to obtain a map of the web pages as a function of the potential queries. A reverse mapping operation may be performed to obtain a grouping of potential queries as a function of one of the web pages. An active query may be selected from the grouping of potential queries to provide to an advertising service to associate an advertisement with the web page.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for transferring a behavior profile anonymously across multiple domains. The behavior profile may be established from a first domain, but transferred anonymously such that it is accessible by other domains. The behavior profile may be used for generating targeted advertisements.

Abstract: A billing statement according to one aspect of the invention includes a description of a transaction and an offer pointer associated with the transaction, wherein the offer pointer includes information that may be used to review an offer. In one example of this aspect, a telephone number or a hyperlink is provided adjacent to a total amount owed listed on a statement (e.g., an electronically-displayed billing statement). The offers reviewed may be customized, for example, based on details of the transaction such as the product purchased or the amount of the purchase, the identity of the consumer, and/or on other data.

Abstract: A method for using promotional programs and merchant values is disclosed. In one example, the method includes receiving an authorization request message including a merchant verification value through a payment processing network, where the authorization request message is associated with a purchase by a consumer. A merchant-specific promotional program is then determined using the merchant verification value, and the merchant specific promotional program is performed. For example, the promotional program can be a sweepstakes and the task may be determining of the consumer is an instant winner.

Abstract: A process and system for the computer-implemented management of one or more target agreements with one or more parties to the agreement by means of a target agreement computer system are provided. Each of the target agreements may comprise at least one performance target, the performance target being a measurable target value to be achieved within a given or predetermined time span, where at the start of the time span an individual target agreement is defined and at the end of the time span the degree of achievement of each measurable target value and hence of each performance target is automatically determined and an incentive payment dependent thereon is calculated and distributed. A calculation module may be provided in which the definition of an assessment scale for determining the degree of achievement of the values is laid down, and a remuneration module may be provided in which the incentive payment belonging to an assessment resulting from the assessment module is laid down.

Abstract: A super-saturation method for information-media substantially relates to a three-body cooperation to direct information to an electronic media consumer (reader, surfer, viewer, listener, etc.). Embodiments of the present invention facilitate a first media entity substantially offering out of context information placement using a second media entity. A facilitator entity guarantees that a consumer of the second media is a known consumer of the first media. Accordingly, the second media entity presents an out of context information placement. For example, an Internet site “AAA” is oversubscribed with potential paying advertising content at $100 CPM. This site offers advertisers an option to present their advertisements to certified “AAA” viewers, albeit on a non-AAA Internet site, for $50 CPM. The facilitator locates certified AAA viewers at Internet site “BBB” that normally charges $30 CPM. Contracts between AAA, BBB, and the facilitator divide a new revenue stream of $20 CPM between them.

Abstract: A method and computer program product for managing information about transactions occurring in a physical establishment includes gathering information about multiple transactions at a physical establishment, and storing the information as metadata. A byte stream corresponding to the metadata is generated. Several elements of the metadata are associated with a particular session based on predefined criteria.

Various solutions allow for the computation of the expected value of a CPT advertisement when there is a scarcity of data pertaining to the actual performance of the CPT advertisement.
