  • Patent number: 9970466
Abstract: A turnbuckle lock having a head piece attached to a connecting piece of a turnbuckle and a locking lever having an interior. The locking lever is constructed, preferably, of two panels defining the interior. A support element is attached at one end to the head piece and is attached rotatably at an opposite end to the locking lever. A locking pin is attached to a turnbuckle shaft and is positionable in the interior of the locking lever to allow or prevent rotation of the turnbuckle shaft. The locking lever is rotatable away from the locking pin to position the locking pin out of the interior of the locking lever, thereby unlocking the turnbuckle shaft. The locking lever is rotatable towards the locking pin to position the locking pin inside the interior of the locking lever, thereby locking the turnbuckle shaft. The turnbuckle can be locked and unlocked without the use of tools and without disconnecting it from the machines to which it is attached.

  • Patent number: 9909605
Abstract: A method for forming a joint between a fiber reinforced composite component and a metallic component and a joint are provided. The metallic component and the composite component each define a joint surface for mating with the joint surface of the other to join the two components together and the composite component defines a free surface opposed to the joint surface thereof. The joint surface of the metallic component defines an array of pins extending therefrom with each pin defining a pin head at an end distal from the joint surface. The method includes the steps of pressing together the joint surfaces of the two components whereby to cause the array of pins to penetrate through the fiber reinforcing material, and modifying the effective cross sectional shape of the pin heads whereby to increase the constraint applied to the composite component against peeling of the composite component from the joint surface of the metallic component.

  • Patent number: 9913083
Abstract: A joint for a housing for electrical components has a series of extruded panels connected edge to edge. The first edge includes a slot defined by an inner wall and an outer wall and the second edge includes a blade inserted into the slot, the blade and the flexible wall including cooperating shoulders. The blade and slot are at an angle to the outer surface where a rib engages into an outer recess to seal the outer surface at the joint. A bridging member spans the joint to prevent spreading, while locking the flexible wall and carrying internal components. The housing can form a post or a receptacle on top of the post. The bridging members connect to end plates by screws extending though the plates so as to form an internal structure for the housing. Some of the connected panels can include cooling fins forming a cooling duct.

  • Patent number: 9879412
Abstract: A pin joint type structural member, made of double steel pipe consisting of a main pipe and a stiffening pipe, restrains buckling so as to be stable under axial compressive force. A clearance between the stiffening pipe 2 and the reinforcing member is determined so that a ratio (Pc2/Pc2) of the reinforcing member contact force with the stiffening pipe inner surface at the end 4b of a counter-clevis side, to the reinforcing member contact force with the stiffening pipe inner surface at the end 4a of the clevis side may be 0.40 to 0.65 when the reinforcing member 4 inclines to the main pipe 1 due to the axial force acting on the main pipe 1. In addition, a length Lin that the stiffening pipe 2 overlaps with the reinforcing member 4 is at least 1.1 times as large as the reinforcing member outer diameter at the overlapping portion.
