  • Patent number: 9128959
Abstract: A crowdsourced search and locate platform, comprising an application server and a client interface application. The application server: receives connections from crowdsourcing participants; navigates a first crowdsourcing participant to a specific geospatial location; sends an image corresponding to the geospatial location to the first crowdsourcing participant; receives tagging data from the first crowdsourcing participant, the tagging data corresponding to a plurality of objects and locations identified by the first crowdsourcing participant. The client interface application: displays elements enabling an administrative user to configure a crowdsourced search and locate campaign; displays other elements enabling an administrative user to configure and run a crowdrank algorithm; and upon the user's selecting a particular object type icon, displays tags of the type selected by placing visual indicators at each tagged location of objects of the selected type within the plurality of image strips.

  • Patent number: 9129128
Abstract: A method comprises the steps of submitting at least one comment regarding an editorially-controlled content to be published with the editorially-controlled content. The published comment is authored by a contributing member of an online community. A rating of the published comment is entered. The rating is determined by at least one reviewing member of the online community. Points are assigned within a predefined range for ratings of the published comment that exceeds a predetermined level. The points are assigned to the contributing member by an editor of the online community in which the points identify subject matter expertise for the contributing member. Awarded points are received in which the awarded points received by the contributing member comprise the points capped by a maximum number assigned to the editorially-controlled content.

  • Patent number: 9123046
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, are described for identifying target terms, e.g., spam terms within a collection of documents. In one aspect, methods can include identifying spam terms by calculating a blacklist term frequency-inverse document frequency (BTF-IDF) score for multiple terms, and by selecting, as the spam terms, the terms that have scores above or below a threshold score. The multiple terms may be derived from documents that are associated with accounts that have been designated as spam accounts.

  • Patent number: 9118207
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that can be used to broadcast or otherwise send load shed and other requirements over a network to recipients. One exemplary embodiment involves sending a first broadcast message to a first group of recipients. The first broadcast message requests compliance with a requirement but does not require a synchronous reply from the first group of recipients. The first group of recipients are each configured to automatically comply with the requirement in response to receiving the first broadcast message. The exemplary embodiment further involves determining, for example, based on actual load determination, to send a second broadcast message to a second group of recipients different from the first group of recipients and sending the second broadcast message to the second group of recipients, the second broadcast message requesting compliance with the requirement.

  • Patent number: 9059952
Abstract: Approaches for distributing and optimizing quality and quantity of social media posts or other posts are disclosed. In certain implementations, a post may be received from a user for submission to a channel directed to a topic. A stream flow value may be determined for the channel. The stream flow value may be based on a volume of posts associated with the channel. A rating value associated with the user submitting the post may be determined. A scope of distribution of the post to one or more users accessing the channel may be determined based on the stream flow value and the rating value. In some implementations, channel instances corresponding to the channel may be provided on different device components. At least one channel instance of the channel instances on which to make the post available may be determined based on the stream flow value and the rating value.

  • Patent number: 9047608
Abstract: A computing system obtains data for a transaction pertaining to access to an application. The transaction data includes a machine identifier of a machine that is associated with the transaction. The computing system determines a percentile that is assigned to the machine identifier of the transaction based on cross-user transaction data for a plurality of transactions associated with a plurality of users. The percentile represents a number of machine identifiers from the cross-user transaction data that satisfy a count threshold that is associated with the machine identifier. The computing system modifies a user-level risk evaluation of the transaction based on the percentile assigned to the machine identifier and determines whether to intervene in the transaction based on the modified risk evaluation.
