Abstract: A method includes receiving first media data from a plurality of persons; identifying first media data generated within a window of time at a certain location and associating the identified first media data with an occurrence of a first event; determining which persons of the plurality of persons were present at the occurrence of the first event; and storing information related to the first event in association with information identifying those persons determined to be present at the occurrence of the first event.

Abstract: Estimations of carbon dioxide (“CO2”) emission of an entity upon the condition of incomplete or missing data uses one or more algorithms implemented in a machine having a processor and a memory and data concerning the entity. The data is applied to an algorithm implemented as code executable in the processor. The algorithm produces a result that comprises an estimate of the CO2 emission of the entity. The CO2 emission estimate can be output to a user, and the underlying formula and data can inspected and optionally modified by users with suitable permissions. The CO2 emission estimate can be applied as a factor in a formula to compute a rating for the entity which can be output from the machine. Error estimates associated with the data used by the algorithm can be generated to provide improved estimates.

Abstract: Methods, systems and articles of manufacture for computerized employment recruiting are provided. The system accesses a candidate database of candidate data for a plurality of candidates and a job posting database. The system compares the qualifications of the candidates to the job criteria for the job postings and determines a match between the qualifications and the job criteria. The system also identifies a inferred links between the candidates and the employer for the job postings to provide an added reliability factor to the referred candidates. The system ranks the matched candidates based, at least in part, using the inferred links and provides the ranked candidates to the employer. The system may use ontology based, and semantic matching based, algorithms for matching candidates to job postings, and also for identifying inferred links between candidates and employers.

Abstract: The functions and operations of a matching service are disclosed. This includes approximating the satisfaction that a user of the matching service has in the relationships that the user forms with others and identifying candidates for a relationship with the user based on the approximated satisfaction. This also includes approximating the satisfaction that the user will have in a relationship with a particular candidate. The matching service also identifies two parties for a relationship. The matching service makes available a plurality of communication levels at which the parties can communicate. Each communication level allows the parties to exchange information in a different format. The parties are permitted to exchange information at one of the communication levels.

Breach information relating to a data breach event of the organization may be received. The breach information may include, for example, breach event description information, compromised personally identifiable information, and remediation action information. A breach report may be generated based on the breach information, the organization related information, and one or more rules related to data breach. At least one reporting entity may be determined based on the organization related information, the breach information, and the one or more rules. The breach report may be output.

Abstract: A social networking system, method and device provides a social network environment in which one user subscribes to a newsfeed or ticker related to another user. Per a disclosed embodiment, users share URLs and post user-generated content, and other users view, comment on, or indicate that they like or dislike such posts; user approval or disapproval of such posts is made visible through, inter alia, a disclosed quantity indicator of popularity. Disclosed embodiments further provide a disclosed mechanism for recommending one user to another, for resolving disputes between users, and for displaying a wish list or an inventory on behalf of a user. Disclosed embodiments further provide for verifying a user and for checking a URL. Disclosed embodiments further provide revenue generation through collecting data pertaining to users, serving advertisements to users, and facilitating transactions between users.

Abstract: A credentials record system that captures personnel background data, such as license information, education and training, work experience, performance data and electronic signature at the time of entry using graphical user interfaces through a network, wherein it permits instant, sophisticated analysis of background data to identify relationships among the data, including archived data and includes the capability to access reference databases for consultation regarding verification of data for accuracy on a continuous basis. The system also provides for an automated auditing process to ensure data integrity and includes the capability to incorporate legacy data, such as paper files and mainframe data, for each personnel record.

Abstract: Techniques described herein facilitate approval or disapproval of individual segments found within discrete pieces of content. By facilitating approval or disapproval on a per-segment basis, the described techniques allow for more granular feedback to the pieces of content than do traditional techniques. Furthermore, by indicating instances where individual segments receive broad approval or broad disapproval, the described techniques allow for better understanding of which individual segments of the content have been broadly deemed helpful and which individual have been broadly deemed unhelpful. This level of granularity contrasts with traditional techniques that simply indicate approval or disapproval of a piece of content in its entirety.

Abstract: A system for storing, managing, and accessing information on a network by providing an interface between a social network and a content network includes an applications platform. The system provides messaging and social networking facility incorporating enhanced instant messaging, file synchronization, network presence, interactive chat capabilities, text messaging, voice and video messaging, blogging, and email. The system includes a viewer, an indexing facility, and a storage facility. The viewer enables users to traverse content and provides services based upon context of time, place, structure, node, and observed user behavior. The viewer provides a means for users to interact with information on the network and services to manipulate information and transact activities. The indexing facility manages the structure of the network and tracks attributes and controlled vocabularies. The indexing facility supports navigation across the structure and resolves the logical index to a physical storage location.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for maintaining security and data gathering for a number of vehicles. The systems include a vehicle activity module for each of the vehicles. The vehicle activity module has a wireless transmitter, a storage device, at least one sensor for receiving event information from identification devices, such as RFID cards, keypads, magnetic ID cards, and the like, a releasable key container, and a processor for accessing and analyzing information. The VAMs are wirelessly connected to a computer system. The VAMs control access to the keys, monitor information relating to access, and store and transmit information relating to sales events, non-sales events, and intrusion events. The VAMs are capable of autonomous operation, without the need to access the computer system to verify event information. The VAMs further include signal attenuating mechanisms to facilitate use of “smart keys.

Abstract: Some embodiments promote website credibility and the optimization of websites for people by automatedly quantifying various elements of a website into component credibility scores. In some embodiments, a set of encoded credibility scoring rules are used to compute each of the component credibility scores, wherein the credibility scoring rules are derived based on factors that have been identified by a grouping of people that preferably represent a primary demographic of users that consume the content of a particular classified type of website. In some such embodiments, the credibility scoring rules are derived from commonality that is identified from a sample set of known credible and/or non-credible websites of a particular classification. Once the credibility scoring rules are defined, the system applies the rules to other websites having the same classification as those from which the rules are derived to automatically generate credibility scores for the other websites.

Abstract: A computer system and method for managing access to a resume database. For each skill or experience-related phrase in a resume, the system computes a term of experience based on an experience range associated with a contextual use of the phrase in the resume. The term of experience for a phrase that occurs multiple times in the resume is the summation of the term of experience for each occurrence of the phrase associated with a different contextual use. The system stores each phrase and the term of experience in a parsed resume. The resume database also stores job descriptions that include required phrases and a required term of experience for each required phrase. The job descriptions also store a required level of education or field of specialization, and a required salary range. A recruiter searches the resume database to find matching resumes that satisfy a job description.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for facilitating communications among persons sharing a common interest. Customers of a telecommunications provider are notified about the service via a notification included in a billing statement. A customer uses the information to access a web site capable of registering the customer and connecting the customer to other persons sharing a common interest. The service assigns aliases to respective participants so that the true identity of each person is not made available to others in the group.

Abstract: Determining a follow-up action to take with respect to a review request is disclosed. The transmission of a review request to a potential reviewer is facilitated. A determination is made that the potential reviewer has not, subsequent to the transmission, created a review. A follow-up action to take regarding the review request is determined.

Abstract: Product vendors are provided with a system for performing a marketing campaign to mobile communication device users, providing offers as instruments, such as digital coupons, to a selected group of users of the mobile communication devices and validating the integrity of the instruments. The invention has two phases: the selection of the components of the instrument from a menu provided by a social networking organization; and validating the instrument upon redemption from the product vendor. In the first phase, the product vendor selects elements from the menu relevant to the campaign, such as timing, nature of the offer, targeting of the recipients, etc. In the second phase, the instrument is encoded as to the marketing campaign and an arbitrary designation which initiates a pattern as the instrument is redeemed. The product vendor inspects the instrument to ensure that the encoding is correct during the redemption process.

Abstract: Computer based system which provides wireless site specific RF safety information and promotes protection of all concerned individuals from RF radiation. The System further informs contractors, workers, site owners, and FCC licensees bow to comply with federal, state and local RF safety standards and regulations. The system provides a method for managing and accommodating RF safety training and certification relating to the radio transmission sites. The system includes a database of transmission sites with corresponding antenna systems including maps of maximum permissible exposure limits, site physical layouts and camera images. The system provides a site specific RF safety summary sheet only to users having a predetermined training certification status. The system further includes recordation of training process, testing results, certification status, and delivery of RF safety summary sheets to users.

Abstract: A jewelry registration, verification and recovery system is disclosed, which includes a coding system that summarizes the physical characteristics of any piece of jewelry. The code includes various positions, with each position corresponding to a physical characteristic, such as the type of jewelry, the weight, the color of the metal, and so forth. Each position (or category) has a predetermined number of alphanumeric digits (or values) in the code, such as one, two, and so forth. A database is established to house the codes and locations of as many pieces of jewelry as possible, with nationwide, or even worldwide entries. In the event of a loss or theft of a particular piece of jewelry, the code (and optionally the location) of the lost piece is supplied to the database, which returns each database entry having the same code as the lost piece, along with its location and an indication if it has been reported stolen or missing, optionally within a particular time window.
