Abstract: Provided are an identity broker system and method for managing a national digital identification of a citizen. In one example, the method includes receiving, from a user device, an identity sharing request of a citizen including an identification of a service provider with which to share the identity, determining one or more digital identification credentials of the citizen that are to be shared with the service provider based on the identity sharing request, receiving an authorization from the citizen via the user device, the authorization including an approval for sharing the one or more digital identification credentials of the citizen with the service provider, and receiving the one or more digital identity components of the citizen from an identity record providing device, and transmitting the one or more digital identification credentials of the citizen to a service provider device based on the identification of the service provider.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating user notifications to a set of users of a social networking service is presented. For each user of a set of users of the social networking service, one or more machine learning models selects an optimal notification channel, an optimal notification template, and optimal personalization content for configurable elements of a selected notification template. Each of these determinations/selections is made according to and based on a likelihood of increased user engagement with the social networking service. Upon determining the notification channel, notification template, and personalizations to the template, the notification is generated and sent to the corresponding user.

Abstract: Operations include identifying students at risk of dropping out or transferring from an academic institution. A student risk analyzer determines a risk score for a student, which may be used to determine whether the student is at-risk. The risk score may be based on a combination of factors. As an example, the risk score may be based on a similarity between (a) attributes of the student and (b) attributes of students that have previously dropped out or transferred to other institutions. A student retention interface displays risk information for students in aggregate form or individual form. The interface may display student information in a student-population view comprising aggregate student information. The interface may display a risk-category view comprising a subset of students. The interface may display an individual-profile view comprising detailed information about a particular student. The interface may allow for drill-down navigation between the views.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods to implement post accident communications in a coal mine, in compliance with the MINER Act and MSHA regulations, are disclosed. Acoustic waves are transmitted bidirectionally through-the-earth in a simple robust half-duplex architecture in combination with signal-to-noise reduction techniques which ensure the ability to communicate using simple tools available in a mine. A personal electronics device, designed to be carried by each miner, automatically decodes acoustically transmitted text messages sent by rescue operations, and automatically encodes text messages by a miner to synchronized impulses manually produced by the miner. Signals are synchronized, in time of day protocol, between the miner and rescue operations. Digital signal processing techniques are disclosed.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for estimating a likelihood of an individual qualifying for a benefit program includes obtaining a profile corresponding to the individual. The method also includes determining respective likelihoods that the profile would satisfy each completeness graph in a set of completeness graphs by running the profile against each completeness graph using an evaluation algorithm. Each completeness graph corresponds to a respective benefit program.

Abstract: Systems and methods of selecting a relevant user for introduction to a user in an online environment are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of receiving a request to identify the relevant user to be introduced to the participating user in the social network, identifying a set of social history records that occurred among the multiple users in the social network, selecting, from the multiple users, the relevant user to be introduced to the participating user using the set of social history records. The relevant user that is selected is not a social connection of the participating user in the social network. One embodiment includes, determining whether the participating user is interested in meeting the relevant user in the social network based on an indication made by the participating user via interaction with the user device.
