  • Patent number: 11067272
Abstract: A flare tip for discharging and burning high pressure and low pressure flare gas is provided. A cover is positioned over the upper end of a first pipe through which a high pressure waste gas stream flows. The configuration of the cover allows the high pressure waste gas to burn smokelessly. The upper end of a second pipe that is concentrically positioned around the first pipe is positioned at a lower elevation than the upper end of the first pipe, and the outer edge of the second pipe is tangential to the flat bottom portion of the cover. When the waste gas exiting the upper end of the first pipe does not have sufficient force to raise the cover off the upper end of the first pipe, the flat bottom portion of the cover forms a cap over the upper end of the first pipe while the upper end of the second pipe remains open.

  • Patent number: 11047601
Abstract: A method and a system of a high-temperature calcium looping thermochemical energy storage are provided. A thermochemical energy storage system is based on CaCO3/CaO, and an energy storage is performed by a mutual transformation between a thermal energy and a chemical energy. When solar irradiation is sufficient, CaCO3 solid particulates are indirectly heated by hot air generated from solar energy to perform an endothermic decomposition reaction, and received heat is stored in decomposition products of CaO and CO2 in a form of the chemical energy. When heat is required, a reversible thermochemical reaction occurs between the CaO and CO2 under an atmospheric pressure, and the chemical energy stored in the CaO and CO2 is transformed into the heat for release.

  • Patent number: 11035592
Abstract: A solar collector system comprising at least one heliostat and an inflatable cover configured to protectively conceal the at least one heliostat while it tracks the sun. The inflatable cover comprises a flexible membrane, which is transparent and colorless so that sunlight is transmitted through the cover. The cover may comprise an elastomeric material such as ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE). The solar collector system may further include a pump for inflating the inflatable cover, a pressure relief valve configured to prevent air pressure in the inflatable cover from exceeding a predetermined threshold, and a pressure sensor configured to automatically turn on the pump when the internal pressure falls below a predetermined threshold. • Patent number: 11021677
Abstract: Multiple candle wicks include a wick construction having at least one pair of substantially parallel elongate candle wicks which are laterally separated from one another, and a ladder filament connecting the pair of candle wicks. The ladder filament extends back and forth between the candle wicks (e.g., at substantially 90° relative to the elongate axes of the wicks) and is of sufficient flexural stiffness so as to resiliently bias the pair of candle wicks from a compacted position and into a spread position following release of an applied bending force. A multiple candle wick assembly includes such a wick construction whereby the crossing portions of the ladder filament are bent around an exterior circumferential portion of an elongate core element so as to assume a general U-shape around the exterior circumferential portion thereof and to place the candle wicks into the compacted position thereof.
