  • Patent number: 10831290
Abstract: A stylus-tracking device may include a piezoelectric receiver or transceiver array on a first side (e.g., underneath) a display. Image data may be acquired from the piezoelectric receiver array. The image data may correspond to signals produced by the piezoelectric receiver array in response to an acoustic signal and/or a mechanical deformation caused by a target object (e.g., a stylus) in contact with a surface, such as a cover glass, proximate a second side of the display. A doublet pattern in the image data may include a first area of having signals below a threshold level and a second area having signals above the threshold level. Based on one or more doublet pattern characteristics, a position of the target object on the surface, a force of the target object on the surface and/or a first direction of movement of the target object relative to the surface may be estimated.

  • Patent number: 10768755
Abstract: A common electrode for a display, which is originally provided in a liquid crystal display element, is also used as one (drive electrode) of a pair of electrodes for a touch sensor, and the other (detection-electrode-for-the-sensor) of the pair of electrodes is newly formed. An existing common drive signal as a drive signal for display is used in common for a drive signal for the touch sensor. A capacitance is formed between the common electrode and the detection-electrode-for-the-sensor, and touch detection is performed by utilizing a change of this capacitance caused by a finger touch of a user. Thus, a display device with a touch sensor is also applicable to a mobile device in which electric potential of the user is inconstant in many cases. The newly-provided electrode is only the detection-electrode-for-the-sensor, and it is unnecessary to newly prepare a drive signal for the touch sensor.

Abstract: Enhanced telestrators are presented. Such enhanced telestrators provide visual elements (e.g. annotations and/or visual cues) to a user of a wearable device, such as a head-mounted display device. The visual elements may be superimposed, combined, composited, blended, and/or layered over image data displayed by a display device included in the wearable device. The visual elements may also be projected (by a projection system included in the wearable device), onto physical surfaces of the user's environment. Such projection systems may include lasers and/or light emitting diodes for photon source. The projection systems are enabled to project the visual elements onto surfaces of the environment of the user of the wearable device. More particularly, the various embodiments herein provide annotations and/or visual cues superimposed over image data viewed by the user and/or projected onto (and reflected by) physical surfaces the user's environment, via a photon-emitter.

  • Patent number: 10705596
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for providing virtual environments that are responsively adaptable to users' characteristics. Embodiments provide for identifying a virtual action to be performed by a virtual representation of a patient within a virtual environment. The virtual action corresponds to a physical action by a physical limb of the patient in the real-world. In embodiments, the virtual action is required to be performed to a first target area within the virtual environment. Embodiments determine that the patient has at least one limitation that limits the patient performing the physical action. A determination of whether the patient has performed the physical action to at least a physical threshold associated is made. The virtual environment is caused to adapt in order to allow the virtual action to be performed in response to the determination that the patient has performed the physical action to the physical threshold.
