  • Patent number: 4475022
Abstract: This is a multi-purpose, low-profile desk accessory in which a horizontally oriented flat base sheet is formed with upstanding walls which define a plurality of shallow storage wells, including one for the storage for a roll of tape which is horizontally oriented, and another for the storage of a flat stack of unbound note paper. Suitable means are provided for twisting the tape 90.degree. as it comes off the tape roll. Above these shallow storage wells are upper decks which provide additional storage space, some of which is specifically dedicated to such office implements as a ring-bound calendar, and possibly an ash tray or card file. Alongside the shallow lower level and upper level storage facilities is an elevated structure which includes deep wells for the storage of paper clips and similar desk implements, and another deep well for storing elongated writing instruments such as pens and pencils in a horizontal attitude.

  • Patent number: 4474293
Abstract: A multi-product merchandising package comprises a base pad having a plurality of products situated thereon covered by a heat shrunk film overwrap. The base pad is prepared from a combination of at least one sheet of single wall corrugated paperboard bonded to at least one sheet of single face corrugated paperboard in such a manner that the corrugated surface of the single face sheet faces upwardly. The corrugated surface of the single face sheet is selectively embossed in a pattern that corresponds to the size and shape of the products situated thereon for positioning and retaining the products on the base pad. The heat shrunk film conforms to the shape of the products and base pad to form a compact unit package. Where desired, base pads may be positioned at both the top and bottom of the packaged products.

Abstract: A pouch for protecting electrosensitive components contained therein from physical shock and electrostatic damage during handling and storage. In one embodiment, the pouch comprises two composite panels, each comprising a sheet of conductive material as the outside layer, a sheet of electrostatic-free material as the inside layer and a layer of open cell cushioning material sandwiched therebetween. Each panel is sealed to enclose the material therein and both panels are then sealed together on both sides and one end. The open end has an interlocking closure to allow components to be inserted into the pouch and for the pouch to be thereafter closed. In another embodiment, the pouch is formed of a pair of extruded, tubular members respectively constituting the conductive material layer and the electrostatic-free material layer with sheets of cushioning material sandwiched between them. The assembly is sealed at one end and provided with a releasable closure member at the other end.

  • Patent number: 4470505
Abstract: An amalgam capsule includes two chambers separated by a piston detachably formed as a part of the capsule end cover. One compartment is formed in part by a resilient flange portion of the capsule which is deformable to provide communication of the chambers and to permit a mixing of the contents of the chambers in the larger of the chambers. Delivery of the mixed amalgam is accomplished by removing a cap from one end of the capsule to expose an aperture therein, and connecting the opposite cover end of the capsule to a syringe, the plunger of which detaches the piston from the capsule cover and drives the piston through the mixing chamber to eject the amalgam therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4470507
Abstract: A tape assembly process attaches semiconductor chips to a tape via thermocompression gang bonding and the tape is wound onto a reel. The tape is fabricated during its manufacture to have a plurality of spaced finger array patterns. The inner finger ends are located so as to mate with the bonding pads of a semiconductor device and are bonded thereto. A ring-shaped strip is included in each finger pattern that joins all of the fingers in each pattern into a unitary structure in which the fingers are accurately spaced. Where the ring joins onto the fingers, weakened regions are introduced and the side of the tape that contains the semiconductor device includes a recess that is in registry with the ring. A ceramic substrate that will ultimately mount the semiconductor device is provided with an array of conductor patterns that match the tape finger patterns. A layer of sealing glass is screened over the ceramic, so as to align with the ring.

  • Patent number: 4469226
Abstract: Blister pack panel for face powder compact display in which the purchaser checks the color of the face powder to determine the suitability of that color for the personal preferance of the purchaser by opening the compact, the blister pack being of a special novel construction to fit over the latching projection and around the hinge opposite the latching projection so that the blister retains the compact securely in tamper proof relation to the solid supporting panel used to display the case. Heretofore a pressure sensitive label which was dyed to match the color of the powder in the compact was affixed to the panel next to the printed description of the shade of the powder. These dyed pressure sensitive labels become soiled during handling by the purchasers and change color. Also the dyed labels may change color because of exposure to strong lighting as for example in a high intensity spot light which may be used for a cosmetic display case.

  • Patent number: 4469222
Abstract: A two-piece beverage carrier is disclosed comprising a one-piece folded longitudinal partition insert which is adhesively secured to the end panels and to the bottom panel of a separate paperboard shell. The shell may be constructed as a wrap-around carrier or it may be constructed in the form of a basket style. The insert for either type of shell has formed thereon a plurality of transverse butterfly partition panels which also have formed thereon glue tabs for adhesively securing the butterfly partitions to the side panels of the paperboard shell. The insert utilizes a low caliber, single thickness of paperboard information of the production blank and by the structure and outline of the butterfly partition panels, heavier thickness is obtained between cells of the erected carrier.
