  • Patent number: 7167263
Abstract: In an external print controller added to an MFP, bit map data obtained by analyzing and developing received PDL data is once compressed and, subsequently, transferred via a PCI bus. In the compressed bit map data, the data in a compressed state is stored onto an HD in the MFP as it is. The compressed bit map data is read out from the HD, decompressed, and sent to a printer unit.

  • Patent number: 7164489
Abstract: A rotated representation of an image is printed by using a coordinate system to assign tile divisions to the image. The size of the tile divisions are selected to maintain their area equal to, or less, than a predetermined maximum. Each segment of the image, as defined by the tile delineations, is sent separately to a data processing unit for processing. The received tile is assigned new coordinate dictating its new target position on a printed page, and its relation to the other tiles. The tile is itself further rotated prior to being send to the printer.

  • Patent number: 7158245
Abstract: Disclosed is a printer which performs efficient power save control by keeping track of the condition of each client of the printer without having to send wasteful packets, that is, without affecting the network environment. The printer includes: a unit for monitoring packets flowing on a network, and for updating and storing a client-associated last receive time each time a packet is received from any client of the printer; a unit for determining, by referring to the stored client-associated last receive time, that any client from whose associated last receive time has elapsed a prescribed time is in an idle condition, and for computing a printer usage rate by summing the past average usage rates of the clients that have been determined not to be in an idle condition; and a unit for setting, based on the computed printer usage rate, the length of time allowed before a transition is made to the power save mode.

  • Patent number: 7148983
Abstract: In a state in which plural public folders are set in a digital multi-functional peripheral (MFP) and made public on a network, a first PC transmits, at the time of activation, designated to-be-monitored folder list data on first PC to a second PC. When second PC has received the designated to-be-monitored folder list data from first PC, second PC collates the received designated to-be-monitored folder list data with its own designated to-be-monitored folder list data. Second PC returns to first PC permission/non-permission data that rejects designation of a public folder as a to-be-monitored folder, if the public folder has already been designated as a to-be-monitored folder (“exclusion process”) and permits access to other public folders.

  • Patent number: RE46783
Abstract: After pre-printed cards are manufactured at least a corner of each card is imaged. It is then determined whether the position and orientation of markings in the image with respect to the corner are within tolerance. If not, the card is rejected. If the markings are, or include, indicia, these indicia may be identified to allow identification of the card. This allows a determination of whether the card is in an intended order, or it allows selection of the batch into which the card is placed. It also means that cards in a given set of cards arranged in a first order can be randomized by first buffering cards in buffers and then outputting the cards to an output conveyor.

  • Patent number: RE47522
Abstract: The present invention relates to an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing wireless local area network (LAN) transmitting/receiving system for providing expanded service coverage, and a method thereof. A first OFDM modulation is performed for an even-numbered time, and a second OFDM modulation is performed for an odd-numbered time. A transmitting frame including a plurality of signal fields according to the first and second OFDM modulation is transmitted. The receiving system determines whether a signal field is repeatedly generated in the frame. If the signal field is not repeatedly generated, corresponding demodulation is performed. If repeatedly performed, the signal field is demodulated by using first bit allocation information and second bit allocation information having a ½ value of the first bit allocation information. A data field is demodulated according to the demodulated signal field.

  • Patent number: RE49357
Abstract: A method and system in which upon occurrence of a P-CSCF failure, a network sends an IMS reregistration request message to a UE. An S-CSCF or an AS monitors a P-CSCF to detect occurrence of a failure in the P-CSCF. Upon detecting the occurrence of a P-CSCF failure, the S-CSCF or the AS sends a request message for IMS reregistration to the UEs being served by the failed P-CSCF. In this manner, the UE can continuously receive the service even though a failure occurs in the P-CSCF.
