  • Patent number: 10371479
Abstract: A weapon station includes a low profile adapter and rotating platform. The low profile adapter is mountable on numerous vehicles or structures, including armored combat vehicles, and mounted concentrically with an operator ingress and egress. The low profile adapter may be mountable on optical sights, such as periscopes. The rotating platform is mounted on the low profile adapter and concentric with the operator ingress and egress and is rotatable about an azimuth axis. The weapon station includes a weapon that can be fired in stabilized, power, and manual modes. The weapon can be fired from within the vehicle in stabilized and power modes, and an operator can fire the weapon manually without leaving the protection of the operator ingress and egress. The weapon station does not obstruct a line-of-sight through optical sights and affords an operator enhanced protection during combat engagements due to its ingress/egress-centric configuration.

  • Patent number: 10359251
Abstract: A gun cleaning system and method is disclosed. The system includes a housing with a retractor. A tether is coupled with the retractor. A connector hoop is disposed at one end of the tether. A cleaning attachment separate from the housing and the tether is configured to detachably couple with the tether. The cleaning attachment has a coupling recess with an opening providing access to the recess. Inserting the tether's connector hoop into the recess couples the tether and the cleaning attachment. A catch adjacent to the opening prevents the connector hoop from exiting the recess. A method of cleaning a gun bore includes passing the tether through the bore, attaching a cleaning patch to the cleaning attachment, coupling the cleaning attachment and the connector hoop, and pulling the tether and the cleaning hoop member back through the bore in the opposite direction. Other embodiments are also included herein.

  • Patent number: 10352643
Abstract: A rifle comprises a quad lock multicaliber receiver, a barrel extension, a bolt, and a projection engageable with the receiver. The barrel extension includes a cartridge chamber and is securable in an end of the receiver. The bolt is slideable in the receiver and engages a cartridge in the cartridge chamber during the firing phase. The projection comprises locking bars extending through the receiver, and is moveable between locked and unlocked positions to allow for securing and removing of the barrel extension, respectively. Positioning bars are disposed on either side of the receiver split parallel to its longitudinal axis. The locking bars are disposed between these positioning bars and the barrel extension such that when the positioning bars are urged toward each other the receiver split is closed and the positioning bars urge the locking bars toward and into locking grooves to secure the barrel extension in the receiver.

  • Patent number: 10351485
Abstract: A number of devices and methods for biopassivating explosive ordnance are disclosed. In some embodiments, a biopassivation reactor device is used to render energetic material in an explosive ordnance less explosive and/or non-explosive. This can be done by coupling the biopassivation reactor device to the fuse opening of the explosive ordnance. This can also be done by incorporating the biopassivation reactor device into the explosive ordnance at the time of manufacture. The biopassivation reactor device can include a housing enclosing microorganisms, water, additives, and/or the like. In some embodiments, an entire ordnance magazine can be operated as a bioreactor to passivate the explosive ordnance inside.
