Patent number: 12291863Abstract: Girts, systems incorporating girts, and methods of using girts are disclosed. The girts are structurally reinforced by gussets that are formed with material from the girt walls. In some embodiments, the gussets are formed via an efficient metal stamping process. The girts have a high mechanical strength, are easily manufactured, allow for water drainage and air circulation, improve thermal performance, decrease sound transmission, and reduce material, transportation and labor costs relative to traditional girts. In addition, isolators that may be used with the girts reduce thermal conductivity and divert moisture from mounting locations.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2021Date of Patent: May 6, 2025Inventor: Brian Nelson

Patent number: 12252879Abstract: In an embodiment, a multifunctional material system is provided and can include a variable-permeability layer, a desiccant containing layer, and a vapor-permeable supporting layer. The variable-permeability layer can have a vapor permeability that increases with increasing relative humidity. The desiccant containing layer can be adjacent the variable-permeability layer. The vapor-permeable supporting layer can be positioned adjacent at least one of the variable-permeability layer and the desiccant containing layer. Water moves in a first direction from the variable-permeability layer to the desiccant layer when relative humidity is greater adjacent the variable-permeability layer than the desiccant layer. Water moves a second, opposing direction, from the desiccant containing layer to the variable-permeability layer when the relative humidity is greater adjacent the desiccant containing layer than the variable-permeability layer.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2023Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: Adept Materials, Inc.Inventor: Derek Martin Stein

Patent number: 12240025Abstract: Spiral forming devices, systems, and methods can be used to join edges of a of a stock material, in a curved configuration, along one or more joints to form tubular structures, such as conical and/or cylindrical structures (e.g., frusto-conical structures). A planar form of the stock material can be formed from a plurality planar sheets coupled to one another in an abutting relationship. By controlling relative orientation and shapes of the plurality of planar sheets forming the stock material and/or by controlling a position of a roll bender used to curve the planar form of the stock material into the curved configuration, the curved configuration of the stock material can be controlled through transitions between sheets to facilitate rolling the sheets to a desired diameter with a reduced likelihood of dimples or other errors and to facilitate fit up between adjacent sheets in the curved configuration.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2022Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: KEYSTONE TOWER SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: Rosalind K. Patent number: 12188222Abstract: Modular building methods and systems using precision machined modular panels. Standard modular panels are used for constructing walls, floor, and roof, with transitions from wall to roof and wall to floor provided by special transition panels. The standard panels include a channel formed configured to receive a flange of a C-channel member. The present method progresses by installation of a foam panel (or stack or row of such panels), followed by installation of a C-channel member, with the flange of such member engaged in the panels, followed by installation of an adjacent row or stack of panels, before installation of the next, adjacent C-channel member. Such alternating placement of panels and frame members eliminates the need for a tape measure, the need for any independent frame for the building, and ensures the walls, floor, and roof are square and plumb, as the precision machined panels ensure these requirements are met.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2022Date of Patent: January 7, 2025Assignee: BLUE TOMATO, LLCInventor: Brian D.
