Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a control unit to execute either one of a first calibration and a different second calibration in a case where a predetermined execution condition corresponding to a type of printing paper that is set in the printing apparatus is satisfied. The first calibration is executed when the type of printing paper that is set is a first type that is included in a plurality of types and the second calibration is executed when the type of printing paper that is set is a second type. The control unit determines whether the predetermined execution condition is satisfied, based on a relationship as to which is greater and which is smaller between a predetermined threshold value and a count value corresponding to a number of elapsed days since calibration was previously executed for the type of printing paper that is set in the printing apparatus.

Abstract: A communication apparatus capable of performing near field communication acquires communication information of a target apparatus through the near field communication, determines whether or not the target apparatus is connected to an access point to which the communication apparatus is connected, on the basis of the communication information, and accepts the target apparatus as a target to which the communication apparatus is to be connected by using a peer-to-peer communication system, when it is determined that the target apparatus is not connected to the access point to which the communication apparatus is connected.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus which prevents a user from being confused when print data comprised of a plurality of sections is printed by the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus is able to perform test printing of print data for which a plurality of copies are to be printed. Whether or not a plurality of sections are included in selected print data is determined, and when it is determined that a plurality of sections are included in the selected print data, execution of the test printing is restricted.
Abstract: A method for inspecting images on printed products in a machine for processing printing substrates includes recording and digitizing the produced printed products by using at least one image sensor in an image recording system, comparing the recorded digital printed images having been created in this way with a digital reference image by using the computer, digitally eliminating distortion in the recorded digital printed images beforehand by using the computer and, if the recorded digital distortion-free printed images deviate from the digital reference image, removing printed products having been found to have a defect. For the purpose of digitally eliminating the distortions, the computer divides the print and reference images into respective image parts and adapts the printed image parts pixel by pixel in terms of their positions in the printed image to minimize the difference between the printed image parts and the respective reference image parts.
Abstract: A facsimile machine and a self-diagnosis method performed by a facsimile machine are provided. The facsimile machine receives a self-diagnosis execution command, performs self-diagnosis according to the self-diagnosis execution command, and outputs a self-diagnosis result report.

Abstract: An information processing system includes: a storage unit that stores first printing information on already executed printing in association with an image for printing converted from the first printing information; and an execution unit that, when second printing information included in a printing instruction which instructs execution of printing is identical to the first printing information stored in the storage unit, executes printing according to the printing instruction using the image for printing.
Abstract: When a setting target apparatus accepts an instruction to start up setup software, a controller starts displaying wizard screens. The controller acquires reference information on a reference apparatus. The reference information includes an actual value and attribute information on it. The actual value is a set value actually set on the reference apparatus. The controller, using the attribute information, creates a list which lists actual values acquired in accordance with a selected category.
Abstract: An output method for receiving output data that is associated with acquired identification information from a server and outputting an image based on the output data from an image forming apparatus is provided. The output method includes: accepting posting of a message from a terminal to a messaging service; sending attachment data to the server when the message includes the attachment data; and issuing identification information that is associated with output data based on the attachment data when the attachment data is in a format that can be accepted for registration.
Abstract: A method of detecting fraudulent use of a printing device including a non-contact memory tag, comprising receiving, by one or more computer processors, a request to read the tag, receiving, by the one or more computer processors, information from the tag, determining, by the one or more computer processors, an installed configuration of the printing device from the information, comparing, by the one or more computer processors, the installed configuration to a current configuration of the printing device, and in response to determining that the current configuration is not the same as the installed configuration, indicating, by the one or more computer processors, that a violation exists.

Abstract: A control system includes: image forming apparatuses at least one of which is installed in each of a plurality of areas in a building; a management apparatus; and alarms that are each provided for each of the areas, respectively. The management apparatus manages security of the building including the plurality of areas, detects an abnormal high temperature occurrence area by identifying the area in which the image forming apparatus from which the abnormal high temperature is detected is installed when the abnormal high temperature is detected in the image forming apparatus, and transmits a report command notification for reporting that the abnormal high temperature has occurred in the area in which an alarm is provided to the alarm which is provided in the abnormal high temperature occurrence area.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a print engine, a sheet transportation unit, a line sensor, and a control unit. The print engine is configured to physically print an image to be printed on a print sheet. The sheet transportation unit is configured to transport the print sheet. The line sensor is arranged along a direction perpendicular to a transportation direction of the print sheet, and configured to detect positions of both end edges of the print sheet. The control unit is configured to (a) determine as a sheet center actual position a center position of the print sheet on the basis of the detected positions of both end edges of the print sheet, and (b) adjust a center position of the image to be printed so as to cause the center position of the image to be printed to agree with the sheet center actual position.
Abstract: A destination information list window includes a column of first attribute information but does not include a column of second attribute information. In a case where the first attribute information included in destination information is hit based on an input search key, the first attribute information included in the destination information is displayed and the second attribute information included in the destination information is not displayed, as a search result, in the column of the first attribute information. In a case where the second attribute information included in the destination information is hit based on the input search key, not only the first attribute information but also the second attribute information included in the destination information are displayed, as the search result, in the column of the first attribute information.
