  • Patent number: 10981577
Abstract: A perception module receives frames of data from sensors onboard a vehicle and identifies objects surrounding the vehicle based on the data. A fault detection module determines semantic information associated with the data, generates a score for each of the identified objects based on a correlation of each of the identified objects with the semantic information, and generates a score for the frames based on the scores for the identified objects. The fault detection module determines that the perception module: is operating normally in response to the score for the frames being less than a first threshold, has a fault in response to the score for the frames being greater than a second threshold, and needs inspection in response to the score being between the first and second thresholds.

  • Patent number: 10977910
Abstract: An electronic device may provide tactile outputs at a tactile output region of the electronic device. The tactile output region of the electronic device may be a surface of an input structure or a surface of an enclosure of the device. Tactile outputs may provide a sustained, physically-based notification of a particular item of interest. The tactile output may alter a physical characteristic of the tactile output region, such as the shape, texture, or density of a portion of the electronic device, in one or more tactile output regions. Furthermore, the tactile notification may provide a notification that is less intrusive and more tunable to user preferences than conventional notifications. The tactile output may be static in that the tactile notification is not transitory and remains throughout the duration of the tactile output. The tactile notification may be dynamic in that it includes motion.

  • Patent number: 10974360
Abstract: A first diamond layer made of polycrystalline diamonds and doped with foreign atoms, is arranged on a metal surface of a machining tool, and is used to detect the degree of wear of an undoped polycrystalline second diamond layer, which is arranged on the doped diamond layer and forms a functional region of the machining tool, wherein at least one physical parameter is detected continuously or periodically during operation of the tool, and wherein a change in the parameter indicates the degree of wear of the undoped second diamond layer. The doped diamond layer forms an “intelligent stop layer” for the tool because as a result of change in the transition from the undoped to the doped layer, the conductivity of the system changes, for example, and this change can be used to form a stop signal for the machine drive before the tool and the machined workpiece are damaged.
