  • Patent number: 10905892
Abstract: A smart carry case which is effectively a portable GPS-enabled, AED monitoring system that is capable of monitoring an AED (as well as itself) and reporting back the presence, function and location of the AED to a remote host. Also disclosed is street furniture that is configured to retain, continuously monitor, and dispense an AED and communicate to a remote host (i.e., a control room). The street furniture is preferably configured such that a user presses the intercom button. In response, the street furniture contacts the control room. The control room, in turn, sends a signal to the street furniture causing the compartment to unlock so the AED can be removed and used in a rescue. The street furniture is configured to continuously monitor the AED and ensure it is functional, using a device such as has been described hereinabove. If the AED is used, an ambulance is deployed to the location. The AED that is retained in the compartment may be a smart carry case.

  • Patent number: 10899420
Abstract: An advisory system of a vessel that monitors variables of a vessel system inclusive of systems and subsystems that are used to operate the vessel. The advisory system may use machine-learning to learn from an operator (i) whether or not two variables are related to one another, and (ii) likelihood that a variable will reach a threshold, and, optionally, time until reaching the threshold. The system may receive operator feedback (i) to indicate whether the two variables are related to one another, and (ii) whether a behavior of the variable is normal or not normal. Thereafter, if a determination that the same two variables are related to one another and behaving in a similar manner, provide notification to the operator of the behavior. In response to determining that the variable is behaving (e.g., trending) in a similar manner that is not normal, providing a notification to the operator.

  • Patent number: 10878707
Abstract: Techniques for updating wake separation distance between aircraft are described. A sensors mesh within a flight path of an aircraft is used to detect when a wake vortex from the aircraft has drifted onto the sensor mesh. A minimum wake separation distance and separation interval for following aircraft are determined based on the various sensor measurements, environmental conditions, and aircraft properties. The minimum wake separation distance and separation interval are used to minimize aircraft separation distances between aircraft that are required due to wake vortex turbulence caused by aircraft during flight.

  • Patent number: 10871961
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for a sensor designed to connect to and monitor devices in an ecosystem. In some implementations, a system monitors a property that includes the sensor configured to generate sensor data reflecting an attribute of the property. The sensor includes a host board that generates the sensor data and a core board connected to the host board. The core board identifies a type of the host board and communicates with a monitor control unit. The monitor control unit receives a request for firmware associated with the type of the host board from the sensor. In response, the monitor control unit accesses the firmware and transmits the firmware to the sensor. The core board of the sensor receives the firmware and stores the firmware. The core board receives the sensor data from the host board and transmits the sensor data to the monitor control unit.

  • Patent number: 10864920
Abstract: Systems and methods for maintaining autonomous vehicle operator awareness are provided. A method can include determining, by a computing system, an awareness challenge for an operator of a vehicle. The awareness challenge can be based on object data. The awareness challenge can have one or more criteria. The criteria can include a challenge response interval, a response time, and an action for satisfying the awareness challenge. The method can include initiating, by the computing system, a timer measuring elapsed time from a start time of the challenge response interval. The method can include communicating to the operator, by the computing system, a soft notification indicative of the awareness challenge during the challenge response interval. The method can include determining, by the computing system, whether the operator provides a user input after the response time interval and whether the user input corresponds to the action for satisfying the awareness challenge.

  • Patent number: 10828205
Abstract: A re-usable electronics device is detachably coupled with a harness physically connected with an article whose wetness condition is to be detected. The harness comprises a set of first conductors, and the re-usable electronics device comprises a set of second conductors on its outer surface such that when the re-usable electronics device is operatively coupled with the harness by insertion in a pouch of the harness, the set of first conductors make electrical contact with the set of second conductors enabling detection of change in voltage across at least one pair of the first conductor above a threshold value. The change in the voltage occurs due to change in resistance of resistance based wetness sensors configured with the harness and operatively coupled to the set of first conductors. Upon detection of the change, the device transmits a notification indicating wetness of the article.
