  • Patent number: 7394360
Abstract: In a method for commissioning radio-based emergency alarm systems, having a master station (7) with a transmit and receive arrangement and peripheral elements (1 to 6), each also having a transmit and receive arrangement, in a cell, the peripheral elements are fitted and supplied with energy, whereupon they transmit search telegrams and then switch to receive mode. Peripheral elements (1 . . . 6), which receive a search telegram from a search peripheral element (1 . . . 6) while in receive mode, transmit a response telegram to the searching peripheral element (1 . . . 6). The availability tables of the peripheral elements (1 . . . 6) in mutual contact with each other are then supplemented and a structure is thereby automatically created among the already fitted peripheral elements (1 . . . 6).

  • Patent number: 7388474
Abstract: When either a front-side sensor or a rear-side sensor of a subject vehicle detects an obstacle entering a certain distance range of multiple distance ranges within a detection zone close to the subject vehicle, a micro-computer causes a warning unit to warn with a buzzer in a primary warning pattern that is prepared for each distance range. In contrast, when both detect obstacles, the warning unit is caused to warn in the following patterns. In a first case that at least one of two sensors detects an obstacle entering a shortest distance range, the warning unit warns in a different warning pattern differentiated from the primary warning pattern. In a second case except the first case, the warning unit warns in the primary warning pattern corresponding to the distance range that is entered by the obstacle that is closer to the vehicle, of the obstacles detected by the two sensors.

  • Patent number: 7369058
Abstract: A remotely controlled electronic display sign which operates with a plasma display and which provides for humidity and heat control and the like allowing the sign to be used in various environments. The sign is essentially self-contained and includes those components necessary for enabling a display of desired material from a remote control source or one located at the sign. A controller in or associated with the sign is accessible either electrically, or through satellite transmission or other wireless transmission from the remote source which allows the display of the sign to be changed at will. Thus, an operator at a remote source may, with the aid of a pre-prepared graphic design, transmit that design to the controller at or associated with the sign for display of that graphic information and potentially with sound.

  • Patent number: 7327223
Abstract: Systems and methods for distributing management information in a computing system over existing power are disclosed. These systems and methods may eliminate the need for a separate physical network to distribute management information in the computer system and the commensurate physical hardware need to implement these networks. A management system may place a management communication on a physical transport medium. This management communication may then be placed on the power lines used to power the various components of the computing system and distributed to the various components along these power lines, where it may be received by its intended recipient and acted upon if necessary.

  • Patent number: 7327237
Abstract: A warning apparatus for a vehicle determines a contact possibility of the vehicle contacting with an object that is present in front of the vehicle according to a relative distance between the vehicle and the front object, a relative speed between the vehicle and the front object, and the like, and provides a contact possibility warning by changing at least one of the driving torque and braking torque of the vehicle according to the contact possibility. The warning apparatus detects, an intention of the driver of the vehicle to bring the vehicle closer to the front object in a steady driving state of the vehicle by, for example, changing a lane of the vehicle. The warning apparatus calculates a correction value to change the driving torque or braking torque according to a result of the detection, delays the timing of providing the contact possibility warning, and controls braking force.

  • Patent number: 7321305
Abstract: A system for determining a location of an object. The system includes an object location tracker and a computer system. The object location tracker is configured for attachment to a mobile vehicle and includes an object identification reading device and a position-tracking device. The object identification reading device senses object identification indicia on the object, such as RF ID tags, bar codes, etc., as the mobile vehicle moves around an environment in which the object is situated. The position-tracking device computes the location of the object location tracker as the mobile vehicle moves throughout environment. The computer system associates the sensed object identification indicia of the object, as determined by the reading device, with a location in the environment based on the position of the object location tracker in the environment, as determined by the position-tracking device, when the reading device senses the object identification indicia.
