Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for channel measurement which includes: determining the size of measured bandwidth of a terminal and the location of the measured bandwidth in system bandwidth; determining the size of a measured sub-band and/or the quantity or sizes of measured sub-band sets according to the measured bandwidth; sending the determined size of the measured bandwidth and the location of the measured bandwidth in the system bandwidth, and the size of the measured sub-band and/or the quantity or sizes of the measured sub-band sets to the terminal; receiving measurement results returned by the terminal. With the method provided in the present invention, invalid feedback is prevented and effectiveness and accuracy of channel measurement and feedback are improved.
Abstract: Access control based on CSMA is favorably carried out with the RTS/CTS method used together. If the RTS/CTS procedure is used together, CTS information is transmitted in response to the reception of RTS information, and data is transmitted in response to the reception of CTS. The CTS transmitting station measures the quality of RTS receive signal, and thereby determines a transmission rate at which it can receive and notifies a station as the destination of CTS. The station as the destination of CTS transmits data in response to CTS information. As the transmission rate for this data, the transmission rate indicated in the RATE field in CTS is applied.

Abstract: A method and system for remote control of multimedia content using a multimedia content distribution network (MCDN) is configured to establish a connection between a customer premises equipment (CPE) gateway and a local area network (LAN) device that is a personal user device. A user of the LAN device may be authenticated. Responsive to user input, the LAN device may send remote control messages corresponding to remote control functions for an MCDN terminal device. The CPE gateway may determine a network address for the MCDN terminal device, and forward the remote control messages to the addressed MCDN terminal device. The LAN device may so remotely control the addressed MCDN terminal device.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a packet switching device sends packets to be sent from a single link of a bundled link interface to multiple egress network processing units (on a same or different line cards). A single one of these multiple egress network processing units is configured to be in the active mode sending particular sets of packets. The other egress network processing units are configured for these particular sets of packets to be in the non-active mode, and hence, will correspondingly drop these particular sets of packets. In case of failure, an egress network processing unit can quickly (e.g., changing a flag) be changed to the active mode to quickly reduce or eliminate loss of packets.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for transmitting/receiving data to/from a relay. The data transmitting/receiving method comprises the steps of: enabling the relay to receive data on an nth subframe of a downlink from a base station; determining the position of the subframe of an uplink to which data is to be transmitted, if any data to be transmitted exists, wherein the position of said subframe is determined as the (n+k)th subframe, wherein said k is determined by the value of said n and by information on a preset HARQ; and transmitting the data on an (n+k)th subframe of the uplink.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for managing nodes in a data grid from within an application server. The system includes an application server having an administrative user interface, and a data grid including a plurality of nodes operating as a cluster, wherein each node in the data grid has node attributes that define node functionality. A configuration repository provided by the application server is accessible to the administrative user interface, and stores configuration information used by the administrative user interface to directly manage the plurality of nodes in the data grid. Upon receiving interpreted configuration information from the application server at a node manager client on the application server, the node manager client modifies the operation of the plurality of nodes in the data grid by overriding node attributes according to the interpreted configuration information, wherein the plurality of nodes thereafter operate according to the configuration information.
Abstract: An input/output connection device includes a generating section which generates an inspection packet that has a tag that uniquely identifies the packet, a transmitting section which transmits the inspection packet to the input/output device, a receiving section which receives a packet, a first determining section which determines, on the basis of a tag of the packet received by the receiving section, whether or not the received packet is a packet transmitted in response to the inspection packet transmitted by the transmitting section, and a second determining section which analyzes the received packet and determines whether or not the input/output device is normal when the first determining section determines that the received packet is the packet transmitted in response to the inspection packet.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide for optimizing workload placement in a networked computing environment (e.g., a cloud computing environment). Specifically, a workload placement technique is applied to determine an optimal platform for handling an identified workload. The workload placement technique comprises one or more of the following: a shadow placement technique; a simultaneous placement technique; and/or a single platform placement technique. Once an optimal platform is identified, a workload timing method may be applied to determine when the workload should be placed thereon. The workload timing method can comprise one or more of the following: a time-based method whereby the workload is placed on the optimal platform at a predetermined time or time interval; and/or an event-based method whereby the workload is placed on the optimal platform based on an occurrence of one or more events external to the workload itself.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method for handling unsuccessful reception in broadcast/multicast service. The method comprises: the user terminal which fails to receive broadcasted/multicasted service contents obtains the service contents actively or passively after a mobile data broadcast/multicast platform broadcasts/multicasts the service contents. The present disclosure also discloses a system for handling unsuccessful reception in broadcast/multicast service, in which an obtaining unit is configured to obtain the service contents actively or passively by the user terminal which fails to receive the broadcasted/multicasted service contents after the mobile data broadcast/multicast platform broadcasts/multicasts the service contents. By the method and system provided in the present disclosure, handling of the unsuccessful reception of broadcasted/multicasted service contents can be triggered and realized by the user terminal.
Abstract: A relay node functions as a master node or a slave node and includes a status monitoring means, an update requesting means, a master transferring means, and a master accepting means. The status monitoring means monitors a status of a connection related to communication data. The update requesting means transmits a first update request to a first node upon the relay node receiving first communication data while the first node functioning as the master node. The master transferring means determines whether to transfer authority of the master node to a second node in accordance with a status of a first connection upon the relay node receiving a second update request from the second node. The master transferring means transmits a first master transfer notification to the second node. The master accepting means prepares to become the master node upon the relay node receiving a second master transfer notification.
