  • Patent number: 10381851
Abstract: A battery support for a scanning device includes a separator plate and multiple elongate battery guides. The separator plate includes multiple mounting supports to engage mounting portions of the interior of the head portion to install the separator plate within the casing. The multiple elongate battery guides extend from the handle-side surface of the separator plate into the interior of the handle portion when the separator plate is installed within the casing. The multiple elongate battery guides engage a removable battery as the battery is inserted into a second end of the handle portion opposite a first end to guide a battery mating connector towards a scanner battery connector. The multiple battery guides continue to engage the removable battery while the battery connector engages the mating connector. The multiple battery guides are configured to prevent exertions of physical stress on the battery connector through the mating connector by the battery.

  • Patent number: 10325126
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting a bulk quantity of RFID tags in a presentation area such as a point-of-sale device. Bulk quantity of RFID tags may be detected according to input to the point-of-sale device including through input from a symbolic barcode scanner, a conveyor belt, a weight scale, and/or via an RF antenna driven at a first power level. After the bulk quantity of RFID tags is detected, the RF antenna is driven at a second, higher power level temporarily to increase bulk RFID tag detection accuracy. “Fringe” tags may be detected by the RF antenna when it is driven at the higher power level that are in the environment but not presented at the point-of-sale device. Fringe tags may be filtered based on RF characterization of the presentation area including driving the RF antenna outside of presentation sessions and/or filtering RFID tags detected across multiple presentation sessions.

  • Patent number: 10318856
Abstract: A method produces non-contact dielectric bridges using a transfer machine for positioning an integrated circuit on a conductive circuit and a laser for ensuring the connection of the contacts thereof. The contacts of the integrated circuit that have been registered by a transfer machine in relation to the contacts of the conductive circuit, arranged on a continuous support made of heat- and radiation-resistant polyimide and held under pressure by the device, are welded together using a laser beam. The laser is positioned beneath the continuous support and built into the transfer machine. When the laser is used, the continuous support is immobilized by a stop and go device. The method is designed to increase the productivity of systems used to produce RFID tags, as a result of low investment costs and much faster speeds of connection of the contacts of the integrated circuit and the conductive circuit. The method allows the use of non-contact identification tags to become widespread over many professions.
