Abstract: Techniques are described for facilitating and/or optimizing a transaction, such as a purchase transaction, through the use of scanned data. In some implementations, a user may use a portable computing device to scan a vehicle tag (e.g., vehicle identification number) that is affixed to a vehicle and determine vehicle information. The user may also scan a user tag such as a driver's license to determine user data that identifies the user. The vehicle data and/or user data may be communicated to transaction service(s), which generate transaction data that may be specific to the particular user that provided the vehicle data and/or user data. The transaction data may include information regarding a price of the vehicle, terms of a loan that the user may take out to finance the purchase of the vehicle, information regarding an insurance policy for insuring the vehicle, and so forth.

Abstract: A system including a payload bay having at least one sensor configured to determine the identity of an object being transported in the payload bay and verify that the object is properly seated within the payload bay. As an object is inserted into the payload bay of the vehicle, the sensor(s) detects a pattern located on the side of the object. As the sensor(s) detects the pattern, it transmits information that enables the system to determine both the identity of the object and position of the object within the payload bay. In this way, the sensor(s) enables the system to identify when a wrong object is loaded into the payload bay, and/or when the object is improperly seated within the payload bay.

Each of the one or more lens surfaces has a substantially rectangular planar shape when viewed in an optical axis direction, the substantially rectangular planar shape being defined by two sides substantially parallel to the first direction and two sides substantially parallel to the second direction. The curvature in the second direction continuously increases from a first end of each of the one or more lens surfaces in the first direction toward a second end of each of the one or more lens surfaces in the first direction.
Abstract: A convertible handheld reader device is provided. The convertible handheld reader device includes a network assembly comprising a network component and a computing component, at least one reader coupled to the computing component and reading at least one of a barcode or Radio-frequency identification (RFID), a wearable wrist band unit having a first wrist band unit and a second wrist band unit, wherein each of the first wrist band unit and the second wrist band unit is coupled to the network assembly, the first wrist band unit is extended in a different direction from the second wrist band unit. The first wrist band unit has an attachment component and the attachment component is detachably attached to one of the network assembly and the second wrist band unit. When the attachment component is attached to one of the network assembly and the second wrist band unit, a structure of the first wrist band, the network assembly, and the second wrist band is converted from a wearable position to a handheld position.

Abstract: Example embodiments relate to a network-based vulnerability detection system configured to access a database of customer transaction data corresponding to a set of card readers that includes transaction codes, receive an identification of a set of compromised card readers among the set of card readers, identify common transaction codes within the transaction data of the set of compromised card readers, and correlate the common transaction codes to one or more instances of fraud associated with the compromised set of card readers. In some example embodiments, the vulnerability detection system may be applied to monitor one or more card readers, receive transaction data corresponding to transaction conducted through the card readers, identify the common transaction codes correlated to the instances of fraud, and cause display of a notification that includes an indication of the instance of fraud at a client device.
Abstract: A method includes transmitting a first magnetic detection signal at a first magnetic frequency and transmitting a second magnetic detection signal at a second magnetic frequency. The method also includes detecting a first response from a first magnetic material to the first magnetic detection signal and detecting a second response from the second magnetic material to the second magnetic detection signal. Each of the first magnetic material and the second magnetic material is associated with a substrate of the coded tag. The method further includes determining that the coded tag encodes first information based on detecting the first response and determining that the coded tag encodes second information based on detecting the second response.

Abstract: A method of recording a medicament dose using a data collection device comprises capturing an image of a medicament dose indicator of a medicament delivery device, adjusting a scale of said image, adjusting said image for skew of one or more characters displayed by the medicament dose indicator, determining the position of at least one of said one or more characters in the image, identifying the at least one character using optical character recognition and determining a medicament dose indicator by the medicament dose indicator based on a result of the optical character recognition. The method may be performed using a handheld electronic device comprising a camera, such as a cellphone, a tablet computer or other device. A computer program for controlling a data collection device to perform the method may be provided in the form of a software application or “app”.
Abstract: A disclosed RF tag includes a substrate and an integrated circuit (IC) package disposed on the substrate. The IC package has an integrated antenna element coupled to circuitry of the IC package. The RF tag also includes an external antenna element of round wire having at least one half turn disposed against two or more surfaces of the IC package. The external antenna element is inductively coupled to the integrated antenna element, and the IC package laterally supports the at least one half turn of the external antenna element.
