  • Patent number: 11051293
Abstract: New radio download numerology allocation information may be obtained through master information block data, system information block data, radio resource control signals, or signals or a physical downlink numerology indication channel, and used along with a reference signal detected in a search space to obtain resource element positions in an antenna port reference signal in a resource block that belongs to a particular band slice according to a reference signal allocation scheme for a band slice numerology. A physical download control may then be decoded based upon one or more resource elements of the reference signal, allowing the connection of, e.g., an enhanced mobile broadband, massive machine type communication, or ultra-reliable/low-latency application to a communications network thereby. Alternatively, multiple physical downlink control channels may be blindly demodulated at each of a number calculated reference signal locations, and one channel selected based on passing a cyclic redundancy check.

  • Patent number: 11038650
Abstract: Configuration of downlink and uplink partial subframes in shared radio frequency (RF) spectrum is discussed. The various described aspects provide for different configurations for start and end transmissions from base stations and user equipments (UEs) when transmitting over partial subframes. With downlink initial partial subframes, a uniform puncturing may be used to reduce the number of resource elements (REs) available for downlink transmission without causing the base station to re-precode any of the data. Additional aspect for downlink partial subframe transmission allows for downlink control channels to identify multiple start points within the subframe at short downlink shared channel locations. On the uplink aspect, UEs may be informed with configurations for both full and partial subframe transmissions. The UE will select which configuration to use based on whether it will transmit on full or partial subframes.

  • Patent number: 11012471
Abstract: A system is provided in which a user device communicates control data with a first base station and communicates user data with a second base station. The user device receives, from the first base station, configuration data specific to the first base station and configuration data specific to the second base station for configuring the user device to handle in-device coexistence interference. When the user device detects interference, it identifies the base station to which the interference relates, and controls the operating of its transceiver circuitry: i) using the first base station specific configuration data if it identifies that the interference is related to the first base station; and ii) using the second base station specific configuration data if it identifies that the interference is related to the second base station.

  • Patent number: 10951347
Abstract: Advertising wireless devices (e.g., user equipments (UEs)) within a distributed wireless network may indicate radio frequency and/or baseband capabilities (e.g., via transmitting capabilities messages). A responding UE may receive one or more capabilities messages, and identify radio frequency (RF) capabilities (e.g., indicated via a bitmap) and/or baseband capabilities of the advertising UEs. The responding UE may then determine a transmission scheduling policy based on the one or more received capabilities messages. For example, the responding UE may generate a combined list of frequencies based on the one or more received capabilities messages, and distribute transmissions over the list of frequencies. Additionally or alternatively, the responding UE may determine block decoding baseband capabilities of the one or more advertising UEs, and may accordingly enable block coding schemes for transmissions on frequencies supported by the advertising UEs with such block decoding baseband capabilities.

  • Patent number: 10912148
Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided for enabling flexible and reliable UE-to-UE based relay. The embodiments include using fountain codes for combining signals at a suitable network layer higher than a media access control (MAC) sub-layer and using a MAC sub-layer hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmission scheme. When a relay UE in a UE group for joint reception receives, from a network access point, a data packet intended for a destination UE in the UE group and including fountain code at the higher network layer, the relay UE sends the data packet to the destination UE and returns a HARQ ACK message at the MAC sub-layer to the access point. The destination UE then receives and decodes the data packet. Subsequently, upon receiving the entire data, the destination UE sends an ACK message at the higher network layer to the access point.
