The cartridge holder may include a lower portion arranged to receive and hold the cartridge and a movable upper portion arranged to clamp the cartridge in place. The cartridge holder may be arranged to hold upper and lower compartments of the cartridge in spaces having a different pressure, e.g., an upper compartment of the cartridge may be held under relatively high pressure, and a lower compartment may be held in a space at ambient pressure. The cartridge holder may pierce upper and/or lower compartments of the cartridge to introduce activating fluid and/or receive carbonating gas from the upper compartment, and/or to introduced pressurized air into the lower compartment to force beverage medium to exit.

    Abstract: A laminate sheet including a weldable margin is formed by laminating metal sheets having a core layer disposed therebetween. The core layer is formed of a core material which includes one or more of a viscoelastic, adhesive and acoustic material. The core layer is selectively distributed such that the laminate sheet includes an adhered region providing a laminate structure, and a non-adhered region including a weldable margin. The non-adhered region is adjacent an edge of the core layer and is characterized by a gap between the first and second metal sheets and by an absence of the core layer in the gap. The non-adhered region defines a weldable margin adjacent a core edge configured such that a weld is formable in the weldable margin without heat affecting the core layer. The laminate sheet can be joined by fasteners installed in the non-adhered region.

    Abstract: Control of temperature of water delivered by a dual-stage water heater having an external boiler with a first heater as first stage and an internal duct (water booster) with a second heater as second stage. A control loop based on a measured water temperature in the boiler and controls the first heater. A second loop calculate a reference booster water temperature based on the temperature error at the outlet (difference between a measured outlet water temperature and a reference outlet water temperature) and controls second heater based on error between reference booster water temperature and measured booster water temperature. The reference outlet water temperature depends on type of beverage (e.g. espresso, cappuccino) and includes a temperature profile with different temperature for different sub-beverages (e.g. coffee, milk). Takes into account physical response times, inertia of heater and anticipate sudden changes of reference water temperature at hot water outlet.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a control device and method for formation of a weld seam based on frontal visual sensing of a weld pool. In the present disclosure, structural light is adopted to irradiate the concave surface of the weld pool, and a visual sensor is adopted to acquire corresponding structured light images. The weld pool depression feature is acquired through image processing. The welding current is adjusted in real time to maintain the weld pool depression feature constant, and thus the uniform backside width of the weld seam can be acquired to achieve uniform and consistent penetration of the weld seam. The present disclosure only relies on the structural light information on the topside of the weld pool to achieve the control of formation of the weld seam and can be applied to the filler-wire-free DC gas tungsten arc welding of tight butt joints.
