  • Patent number: 10125476
Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatuses for managing the flow of fluids, such as, for example, water, through pipes. Specifically and without being bound by theory, the apparatuses of the present invention creates a backward pressure in fluid traversing a pipe, wherein the backward pressure within the pipe provides compression to the fluid effectively compressing entrapped gas bubbles within the fluid, allowing more accurate water meter measurements. Moreover, the apparatuses of the present invention provide backflow prevention. Embodiments include housing that may be disposed in-line with pipe sections having a width or diameter that is the same as or similar to the pipe sections connected thereto. Systems and methods for managing fluids are further provided.

  • Patent number: 10118207
Abstract: An automated water purging apparatus prevents dispensing of contaminated water by volumetrically flushing a standing volume of water between a tap and an exterior inlet as required. Volumetric control of flushing and usage monitoring between flushing events minimize water waste and delivery delays. Embodiments operate in demand and/or periodic modes, and switch therebetween according to a user-specified schedule. A controller and valve can be powered by a battery that is recharged by energy derived from water flow through the apparatus. Wireless and/or network connectivity can enable remote communication with the controller via a remote console and/or other wired and wireless devices. Embodiments take partial purge usage volumes into account when determining if standing water is contaminated. Partial purge volumes can include volumes shared with other taps. Embodiments can alert users to potential leaks. Embodiments include a volumetric flow sensor at the external inlet shared among a plurality of taps.

  • Patent number: 10113657
Abstract: The present application relates to an apparatus of joined valves used to test and maintain refrigeration systems. More particularly, the present application provides a Multiple Valve Refrigerant Leak Protection Device having a specifically preferred embodiment including a ball valve with a soldered pipe connection, as part of the fitting with a Schrader valve, primarily used for the maintenance and transfer of refrigerant from commercial refrigeration equipment. Schrader valves are most commonly used in this application with a ball valve. A ball valve would be the preferred valve, but a wide range of valves could be used. The resulting valves can be used to test and maintain refrigeration systems, and act to prevent leakage where refrigeration fluids are often released to the atmosphere when the system is being maintained or repaired.
