Abstract: A system and method for generating separations between jobs in a batch of scanned pages are provided. The method includes, for each of a set of jobs, capturing an image of a representative page of the job. Thereafter, the method includes scanning the set of jobs as a batch to generate a set of scanned pages. The captured images are compared with scanned pages in the set of scanned pages to identify, for at least one captured image, a respective scanned page which matches the captured image. At least one separator is generated for separating the set of scanned pages based on a location of the matching scanned page(s).

Abstract: The present invention provides a technique for notifying a call center of an alert and providing access to a notification server which contains precompiled database information of a desired action to take in response to the alert. The alert is provided through a radius start record from a pendant with the user. The pendant remains turned off, until activated by the user. After activated, a modem of the pendant registers the pendant with a cellular network and in parallel, the cellular network provides a duplicate radius start record to a group of servers, which means there must be an alert from the user, such as an emergency.

Abstract: A management server capable of communicating with a providing apparatus via a network and using a function provided by the providing apparatus includes a reception unit configured to receive failure information from the image forming apparatus, and a notification unit configured to perform notification for arranging maintenance of the image forming apparatus according to the failure information received from the image forming apparatus, wherein the management server does not arrange the maintenance of the image forming apparatus if it can be identified that the failure is caused by the providing apparatus based on the received failure information.

Client-specific information from a client profile is read from database accessible to at least two printer server systems. The client-specific information includes the specific client system's geographic location, a favorite time span reflecting when the specific client system was previously connected to a network, an amount of data reflecting data previously printed within a given historical time span, a maximum data transfer rate at which the specific client system can transfer data to the network, a minimum speed required for printing data received from the specific client system by each printer server system, or combinations thereof. At least one best-suited printer is ascertained to be used for servicing the print request, utilizing the client-specific information, printer server information, and printer information. The print request is serviced by the at least one best suited printer.

Abstract: A cloud administration system for managing a print device license for a remote print device may include a processing module in communication with a plurality of print devices. The processing module may be located remotely from each of the plurality of print devices. The cloud administration system may include a storage module in communication with the processing module. The processing module may be configured to receive a print device license associated with a print device of the plurality of print devices, store the print device license in the storage module, and transmit the print device license to the print device. The cloud administration system may operate as a shared resource for each of the plurality of print devices. The print device license may include instructions for rendering the print device inoperable if the print device does not receive an approval notification from the cloud administration system within a time period.

Abstract: An embodiment generally relates to systems and methods for electronically auto-filing and retrieving erasable paper document documents configured for ultraviolet (UV) imaging. A device can automatically generate an electronic version of the erasable paper document and store the electronic version in a database. A user can search the database for the electronic version with identification information associated with the erasable paper document, upon which the systems and methods can retrieve the electronic version of the erasable paper document for the user. The electronic version of the erasable paper document can be re-rendered either as a new erasable paper document, for display to the user, or other renderings.

To this end, in this invention, in an early stage of connection between a digital camera DSC and PD printer, the PD printer side requests an object which contains a keyword as authentication information of those which are stored and held by the DSC (S29). Abstract: An image forming apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a type identification value measurement portion, a determination portion and a speed adjustment portion. The type identification value measurement portion uses, when the print job is executed, a media sensor previously provided in a paper feed cassette to measure a type identification value for a sheet to be transported in the print job. The determination portion determines whether or not an incidence of paper delay corresponding to the measured type identification value for the sheet exceeds a previously set threshold value. The speed adjustment portion lowers, when as a result of the determination, the incidence of paper delay exceeds the threshold value, a transport speed of the sheet as compared with a normal transport speed to execute the print job.

The print control apparatus includes a first determination unit, a second determination unit, and a selecting unit. When an input print job is to be executed by the printing unit, the first determination unit determines how many sheets are to be discharged, corresponding to a single copy based on the print job. The second determination unit determines how many discharging destinations are required for discharging the determined number of sheets. If the determined number of discharging destinations is a multiple value, the selecting unit selects multiple discharging destinations located closest to each other as discharging destinations for the sheets printed. Abstract: A print job processing system determines a set of job size thresholds for a set of print jobs received over a period of time by a print shop. The print shop includes multiple cells. The system orders the job size thresholds from lowest to highest, assigns the lowest job size threshold to a first one of the cells, assigns the highest job size threshold to a second one of the cells, and assigns each of the remaining thresholds to the remaining cells so that each of the cells has an assigned threshold. Then, when the system receives a print job, it determines a size for the received print job, identifies which of the cells has an assigned job size threshold that corresponds to the size of the received print job, and routes the received print job to the identified cell. The identified cell may then process the received print job.

Abstract: An embodiment generally relates to a device for rotating image tiles using line segment read buffers. The device comprises an image memory configured to store an image and a plurality of buffers, wherein the image comprises a plurality of tiles. The plurality of buffers comprises line segment read buffers configured to interface with the image memory to read line segments of the plurality of tiles from the image memory. A rotator logic module is configured to micro-rotate the line segments, aggregate the line segments as rotated tiles, and macro-rotate the rotated tiles to determine an address of the image memory at which to write the rotated tiles. Write buffers are configured to write the rotated tiles to the image memory at the determined address.

Abstract: A low-capacity power supply is described in which an input capacitance may be adjusted. In one example, input capacitors may be located between an AC power supply and a rectifier. Additional adjustment capacitors may be located on one or more input lines to the rectifier. The adjustment capacitors may be added in series to at least one of the input capacitors to decrease the input capacitance of the rectifier. In this example, the power provided downstream of the rectifier may be adjusted to increased or reduced as needed. In other examples, additional switches are provided for the input capacitors to selectively add their capacitance to or remove their capacitance from the input of the rectifier.
