  • Patent number: 10152453
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing patient information on a primary computer system involving the creation of an electronic patient chart; receiving updated information to the patient chart; and automatically accessing a secondary system based on the updated information. The primary and secondary computer systems communicate to better manage inventory, medical prescriptions and other administrative concerns. When the patient chart is edited by a healthcare professional, the primary computer system evaluates the updated information and then sends requests to one or more secondary systems automatically. The updated information may involve the need for a new medicine for the patient, a new appointment for the patient to be set up, and/or a new bill to be generated for the patient, among others. The secondary system or systems provide back-end management for these requests. Such back-end management occurs relatively automatically and substantially in real time.

  • Patent number: 9498177
Abstract: A method is disclosed for reconstructing image data of an examination object from measured data, the measured data being captured during a rotating movement of a radiation source of a computed tomography system around the examination object. In at least one embodiment, different iteration images of the examination object are determined successively from the measured data by way of an iterative algorithm, wherein with the iterative algorithm the current iteration image at any one time is high-pass-filtered and weighted as a function of contrast using a variable which contains contrast information relating to the current iteration image at that time.

  • Patent number: 9489487
Abstract: A bio-information monitoring system passively monitors a patient with a remote portable bio-information unit that takes various bio-information measurements at selected time intervals as well as at random times without patient intervention. The measurements are converted to digital signals which are transmitted from the bio-information unit to a modem when the bio-information unit is in proximity to the modem. The signals are stored in the modem and uploaded to a central monitoring network. Automatic alerts may be sent from the central monitoring network to a treatment provider. The treatment provider may also access the information through secured dedicated websites via the Internet.

  • Patent number: 9392980
Abstract: A two-dimensional look-up-table (LUT) storage unit stores a two-dimensional LUT in which each combination of two input values is associated with an output value for outputting a different color tone. A registration unit registers Positron Emission Tomography (PET) images of examination 1 and examination 2 by using X-ray CT images of the examination 1 and the examination 2; and an output-image creating unit acquires from the two-dimensional LUT an output value where input values are a combination of pixel values of corresponding pixels between the registered PET images, and creates an output image. Moreover, the output-image creating unit creates the output image from output values within a setting range specified on the two-dimensional LUT, among acquired output values. A display control unit controls display such that an output image or a composite image of an output image and an X-ray CT image created by a composite-image creating unit is to be displayed on a monitor.

  • Patent number: 8712792
Abstract: Personalization of access to health-related information on a computer network is provided based upon a health history of a user. In one implementation, personal health-related information about the user is obtaining from the user operating a client computer. The health-related information includes one or more health-related terms that each corresponds to a health-related concept. The health related terms provided by the user are correlated with a health terminology thesaurus that is stored on a computer-readable medium, such as at a server remote from the user client. Each of the health-related terms is associated with a single concept unique identifier that uniquely identifies a corresponding health-related concept. Health-related works or content is made accessible over the computer network by correlating the concept unique identifiers for the user's health information with corresponding concept unique identifiers that are associated with the health-related content.

  • Patent number: 8682685
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and methods for facilitating the improvement of data quality generated during drug and medical device clinical trials. In one embodiment, the invention includes a system and method for generating an ideal subject suitability score for one or more interaction points of a clinical trial. One or more individual subject suitability scores may then be generated from actual subject interaction with the clinical trial for each of the interaction points of the clinical trial. For each interaction point for which an ideal subject suitability score is generated, the one or more individual subject suitability scores may be compared to the ideal subject suitability score to determine the deviation there between. The quality of data collected from actual subject interaction with the clinical trial may be a function of the difference between the individual and ideal subject suitability scores.
