Abstract: A security-enhanced document with a removable SOC is provided that is compatible with process color digital imaging, method and system for producing the document enhances production, and expands the aesthetics of the documents.

Abstract: A security element formed on a substrate having a printing side and a viewing side is provided, the security element including: a first image portion provided on the printing side of the substrate, the first image portion including one or more micro-image elements; a second image portion provided on the printing side and/or the viewing side of the substrate; and a plurality of focussing elements disposed on or in the viewing side of the substrate for observing the one or more micro-image elements; wherein the first image portion and the second image portion are integrated into at least one distinguishable security element when observed from the viewing side of the substrate.

Abstract: A flat security element with microreflectors arranged as a microreflector pattern in a main plane of the security element. The microreflectors present a motif made up of image points to a viewer. The motif appears for the viewer as lying outside the main plane of the security element. Two of the microreflectors are adjusted in each case to produce one of the image points of the motif appearing for the viewer as lying outside the main plane. The microreflector pattern has several groups of microreflectors. Each of the groups is provided to represent to the viewer a perspective view of the motif after tilting the security element about an axis lying in the main plane. Image points of the motif are shifted by shift ranges of different sizes through the tilting.

The educational device includes a frame that includes a first end, a second end, and a releasable connection point configured to attach to an additional frame. The educational device further includes a first group adjacent to the first end and including a bead. The educational device further includes a second group adjacent to the second end and including a second bead. Abstract: An expandable storage device is provided including a first panel and a second panel, along with one or more mechanisms for adjusting the size of a spine therebetween. By one approach, the storage device includes a first panel having a first panel spine portion, a second panel having a second panel spine portion, and one or more actuators, where the first panel spine portion and the second panel spine portion are configured to form a spine of the device having an adjustable width. The one or more actuators may be configured to move between an unlocked and a locked configuration to move the first panel or the second panel relative to one another and selectively retain the spine of the device at variety of adjustable widths. So configured, the device may accommodate an increasing or decreasing number of articles, sheets, or other items placed therein.
Abstract: Security documents often incorporate security devices to prevent or hinder counterfeiters. Disclosed herein are security devices that include a fluid or fluids within the devices. Such devices, and security documents that include them, afford new techniques to check whether a security document is a legitimate or counterfeit copy.

Abstract: Techniques are described to embed graphical identifiers into a ghost image within a layer of laminate of an identification document. The ghost image includes optically variable media that has a first appearance when viewed from a front of the identification document in reflected light at a first angle and a second, different appearance when viewed from the front of the identification document in reflected light in a second, different angle. During the ghost image generation process, a graphical identifier can be placed on a baseline ghost image to generate an adjusted ghost image. Once the adjusted ghost image is printed onto the identification document, the graphical identifier can be viewable based on the appearance of the adjusted ghost identifier in relation to the reflected light.

Abstract: Embodiments of a store label booklet include a plurality of sheets stacked one on top of the other and connected to a binding that spans an entire thickness of the booklet, each sheet including a planar array of store labels. No release coating is used. When each store label or row is removed from the book, a liner strip remains connected to the binder and a portion of the adhesive lying opposite the liner strip is exposed for application of the label to a retail shelf edge. Each store label may differ in orientation, size, or style and may contain different product information. Location information may be located on a binding of the booklet, on the label, or on both the binding and the label. The store labels may be printed in a predetermined order.
Abstract: An inventive tool enables easy removal of label media from tight spaces, such as removal of a spine or cover label from the label pocket of a notebook binder. The tool is generally flat, skinny, and long and has an adhesive capture end and a handle end. The adhesive capture end utilizes a low- to medium-tack pressure sensitive adhesive to capture the entrapped label media when the tool is inserted into the pocket. Modes of providing a pressure sensitive adhesive end include spray application and double- and single-coated films and other media.
