  • Patent number: 9273471
Abstract: Disclosed are surface sections for creating a non-slip or minimal slippage surface. The surface section includes a plate, a plurality of plate apertures, at least one elevator, a plurality of pegs, and a plurality of couplers to couple the pegs to the plate. Each of the plurality of pegs is at least partially located within, and aligned with, one of the plate apertures. Each coupler couples one of the plurality of pegs to the plate in a normal, extended state in which at least a portion of the peg is extended above the upwardly facing surface of the plate. Each coupler allows each of the plurality of pegs to move within its respective plate aperture to a non-extended state upon application of pressure to the peg. When the pressure is removed, the coupler moves the peg back to its normal, extended state.

  • Patent number: 9273870
Abstract: A room enclosure assembly on a base of a concrete ceiling or wall is disclosed. In an embodiment, it includes metal sheet material having contact surfaces toward the base and web faces leading away from the base and heat exchange surfaces. Folding regions are formed between the sub-faces of the sheet material. The contact surfaces are fastened to the base area via a heat conducting connection layer. The heat-exchange faces are provided with a coating layer. The heat flow between the base and the heat exchange surfaces is especially efficient because it takes place in the continuous metal sheet material. Through-openings in the heat exchange surfaces, together with the use of a suitable coating layer on the heat exchange surfaces, allow for the acoustic insulating effect and optical appearance to be optimized.

  • Patent number: 9212489
Abstract: A guard assembly for a skylight. The assembly includes rails positioned on opposing sides of a skylight frame, connected by tension members that act to pull the rails laterally toward each other, causing the rails to clamp onto the skylight frame. The assembly can be coupled to the skylight without need for penetration fasteners that can cause the skylight to leak. The rails and tension members can be custom sized to proper dimension at a work site. In one embodiment, the guard assembly includes modular reinforcement components that spread out local clamping forces over a large area to mitigate the generation of yield and creep stresses that would otherwise cause the guard assembly to loosen over time. The guard assembly includes a guard structure that extends over the skylight and, in various embodiments, can be readily removed from the guard assembly for servicing of the skylight.
