Abstract: Initial synchronization is achieved without depending on fluctuations of a transmission packet transfer delay time in a network. An IP packet having a multiplexed transport packet containing media data is received via a network. The IP packet is processed, and media presentation by the media data is controlled. A presentation timing is controlled on the basis of a network delay time in communication between a transmission side and a reception apparatus via the network. For example, the multiplexed transport packet is a TS packet making up an MPEG-2 transport stream.

Abstract: A terminal of a viewer who views a live-stream includes one or more processors, and memory storing one or more computer programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors. The one or more computer programs includes instructions for: causing transition from a live-stream screen to a post-stream screen when a distributor of the live-stream ends the live-stream, the live-stream screen showing a video image generated by a terminal of the distributor, the post-stream screen showing a predetermined image; and accepting an instruction to use a gift from the viewer on the post-stream screen.

Abstract: Efficiency of a technique for performing laser scanning and photography simultaneously is improved. A laser scanning apparatus includes a horizontally rotatable horizontal rotation unit, a rotation controller, and a processor or circuitry. The horizontal rotation unit includes cameras and a vertical rotation unit that performs laser scanning in an upper-lower direction. The rotation controller controls rotation of the horizontal rotation unit. The processor or circuitry performs a process of not selecting some pieces of laser scanning data that is obtained by laser scanning in the upper-lower direction. Laser scanning and photography that uses the cameras are performed while the horizontal rotation unit is horizontally rotated. The rotation of the horizontal rotation unit is decelerated in performing photography. The processor or circuitry does not select some pieces of laser scanning data that are obtained by laser scanning in the upper-lower direction during the deceleration.

Abstract: At least three uses of the technology disclosed are immediately recognized. First, a video stream classifier can be trained that has multiple uses. Second, a trained video stream classifier can be applied to monitor a live network. It can be extended by the network provider to customer relations management or to controlling video bandwidth. Third, a trained video stream classifier can be used to infer bit rate switching of codecs used by video sources and content providers. Bit rate switching and resulting video quality scores can be used to balance network loads and to balance quality of experience for users, across video sources. Balancing based on bit rate switching and resulting video quality scores also can be used when resolving network contention.

Abstract: An online broadcasting system is provided. The system combines live video streaming, video on demand (VOD), messaging and other media content provided by an owner of a live broadcast and/or by the owner's online followers. The media content may be combined into a single broadcast stream. The owner of the broadcast may use an online control room to choose in real time what multimedia content to provide to his/her followers. The system also provides for interaction between the followers and interactive elements that the owner may create through the system. A gaming and/or revenue sharing component also may be provided wherein the owner and the followers may earn points for viewing and/or interacting with sponsored media through the system.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for facilitating interaction with content using interactive effects. The techniques comprise receiving a video from a first computing device associated with a first user among a plurality of users. The video is generated using an interactive effect. The interactive effect comprises overlaying at least one component on at least one subset of frames of the video. The interactive effect enables the video to be interacted with other users among the plurality of users. The video is presented on a second computing device associated with a second user among the plurality of users. The video comprises information indicative of instructions on how to interact with the video. Display of an animation associated with the at least one component may be automatically caused on the second computing device in response to receiving an indication of interacting with the video by the second user.

Abstract: A method for generating a video intermediate frame, including obtaining a target video frame pair; constructing an image pyramid for each video frame in the target video frame pair; and generating an intermediate frame of the target video frame pair by using a bidirectional optical flow estimation model and a pixel synthesis model in a layer-by-layer recursive calling manner according to an order of the image pyramid from a high layer to a low layer based on the image pyramid, wherein the generating of the intermediate frame of the target video frame pair comprising: repairing a bidirectional optical flow corresponding to a previous layer using the bidirectional optical flow estimation model, and repairing a previous intermediate frame corresponding to the previous layer using the pixel synthesis model.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for inserting emoticons within a media asset based on an audio portion of the media asset. Each audio portion of a media asset is associated with a respective part of speech, and an emotion corresponding to the audio portion for the media asset is determined. A corresponding emoticon is identified based on the determined emotion in the audio portion and causing to be presented at the location within the media asset.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein for a media guidance application that provides content recommendations based on recent activity. For example, the media guidance application determines that the user has stopped using the first device and is using the second device. In response, the media guidance application retrieves, from memory, a length of time that the user has consumed media on the first device. The media guidance application then determines the time interval when the user was consuming media on the first device. Next, media content is determined that the user consumed on the first device during the time interval. The media guidance application then determines a characteristic of the consumed media content and recommends media content on a second device based on the characteristic.

Abstract: A video management system may send time-stamped metadata corresponding to a video stream across a communication path having a limited bandwidth. Time-stamped metadata for a first reference video frame which identifies objects in the reference frame may be generated, and sent across the communication path. Time-stamped metadata for each of a plurality of first delta video frames following the first reference video frame may be generated, the time-stamped metadata for each of the plurality of first delta video frames may identify changes in detected objects relative to the objects identified in the time-stamped metadata for the first reference video frame. The time-stamped metadata for each of the plurality of first delta video frames may be sent across the communication path.

Abstract: An addressable apparatus and method for simultaneous presentation of a performance script or other commentary, dialogue, and/or visual information available in the original language or one or more translations which can be selected by the user. Other visual information such as, sponsors, advertisements, and emergency alerts can be transmitted to each display in full color graphics or video. In one embodiment, a touch screen interface can allow point of sale applications pre-show, during intermissions, and/or post-show. Individual addressability allows direct messaging capabilities, seat-naming, anti direct-marketing media opportunities.

Abstract: A system for processing video files includes receiving the video files, transcoding each of the video files, and making available each of the transcoded video files to a target platform. A predictive analysis process estimates the respective end times that each of the video files will be available for the target platform. Each of the respective end times are compared against a licensing window associated with the respective video file.

Abstract: A method for clock calibration is provided. In the technical solution according to the present disclosure, a target driving chip includes a plurality of clock calibration circuits, wherein each of the clock calibration circuits is configured with one clock frequency. Prior to sending a clock calibration signal, a controller sends a reference clock frequency to a driving chip over a configuration instruction, such that the driving chip determines a target clock calibration circuit for clock calibration based on the configuration instruction.

Abstract: A unified calibration method between a DVS and a camera, in which a special calibration board is set up which consists of a calibration grid pattern and LEDs attached to the corners of the calibration grids. The camera finds the corners of calibration grid by capturing the image, and the DVS finds the same corners by detecting the intensity changes of the LEDs at the corners, to establish a unified world coordinate system as a reference coordinate system. After performing the calibration and coordinate system transformations, an extrinsic matrix between the DVS and the camera can be obtained.

A noise detection circuit is configured to detect that noise having a higher frequency than a frequency of the video signal is mixed into the video signal. A filter circuit has a function of reducing the noise included in the video signal. An imaging control circuit is configured to set a signal-output time per one pixel of the imaging device to a second set time longer than a first set time and a filter control circuit is configured to turn on the function of the filter circuit when the noise is detected by the noise detection circuit.

Abstract: In a communication system where a channel teed carrying a media stream is broadcast for delivery of the media stream to a media client, where the channel feed further includes metadata in-band and correlated with a content frame of the media stream, but where the metadata gets removed from the channel feed before the media stream reaches the media client, a computing system (i) extracts the metadata from the channel feed and (ii) transmits out-of-band to the media client the extracted metadata in correlation with reference fingerprint data representing the frame of the media stream, the correlation being useable by the media client as a basis to re-correlate the metadata with the frame of the media stream, so as to enable the media client to carry out an action, such as dynamic ad insertion, based on the correlation of the metadata with the frame of the media stream.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating a content item banner for display based on a session type and a content item type. A user profile is accessed at a computing device, and a session type associated with consumption of at least a content item of a plurality of content items is determined based on the user profile. A content item type associated with the plurality of content items is determined, and a content item banner for a subsequent content item of the plurality of content items is identified based on the session type and the content item type. The content item banner is generated for display.
