  • Patent number: 12369771
Abstract: Errors in a blended stream that would result in non-display or obscuring of a live video stream from a medical device may be automatically detected, and a failover stream corresponding to the first live video stream may be displayed to medical personnel. For example, one or more second input streams that are being blended may contain no data or invalid data which may result in the blended stream not displaying (or obscuring) the live video stream (if the blended were displayed). Switching from blending to a failover buffer may occur within the time to process a single video image frame. Upon detection (prior to display) that the blended stream would not display the live video stream, display of the live video stream from the failover buffer may be initiated. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 12368827
Abstract: A method for actuating an actuable deflection device of an optical system for a virtual retinal display. A first eye status of the user of the virtual retinal display, detected and/or determined using an eye status detection device of the optical system, is received by way of a control unit of the optical system at a first time. In addition, first actuation signals are generated for the actuable deflection device using the control unit, in such a way that the scanning region of the deflection device is adjusted in accordance with the detected and/or determined first eye status of the user.

  • Patent number: 12368522
Abstract: A broadcast order placed by a requestor is received at a first processing device configured to implement an automated media scheduling system. The broadcast order includes a request to prohibit placement of at least one media item within a threshold proximity of a restricted media show. In response to receiving the broadcast order, the automated media scheduling system modifies at least one record associated with the requestor to indicate the request. During automated schedule generation, the automated media scheduling system prevents the at least one media item from being scheduled within the threshold proximity of the restricted media show.

  • Patent number: 12335579
Abstract: The technology disclosed teaches a method of testing performance of a device-under-test during cloud gaming over a live cellular network. The method comprises instrumenting the device-under-test with at least one instrument app that interacts with a browser on the device-under-test and captures performance metrics from gaming network traffic. The browser and the instrument app can be invoked using a test controller separated from the device-under-test, causing the browser to connect to a gaming simulation over the live cellular network. A segmented gaming image stream is transmitted to the browser, with segmented playing at varying bit rates and image complexity while the instrument app causes the browser to transmit artificial gameplay events to a gaming simulation test server. Performance metrics from the gaming network traffic are captured, as well as gaming images rendered by the browser during the segmented gaming image stream.

  • Patent number: 12294753
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating media program keywords based on a video-hosting website are disclosed herein. Control circuitry identifies, on the video-hosting website, video content items that include at least a portion of a media program. The media program has a media program identifier and the video content items have respective titles, each including one or more terms. The control circuitry identifies a term included in more than one of the titles and identifies a group of the video content items that have the term included in their title. Based on the video-hosting website, the control circuitry determines a cumulative number of rankings of the video content items within the group and generates a relevance score for the term based on the cumulative number of rankings. The control circuitry stores the term and the relevance score in a keyword database in association with the media program identifier.

  • Patent number: 12267625
Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein generally provide for the compensation of asset providers and/or communications network providers for the non-consumption of assets provided with programming. In this regard, when users elect not to consume the assets associated with the programming, the asset provider loses the opportunity to present their assets to such non-consuming users and is thereby injured in relation to the price they have paid for the delivery of their assets. In one arrangement, a reporting module at a customer device is operative to identify when a user skips an asset and report that skip event to the network. This information may then be utilized to adjust the bill of the asset provider and/or to bill the user associated with the skip event.

  • Patent number: 12265898
Abstract: Example aspects of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods that learn a compressed representation of a machine-learned model (e.g., neural network) via representation of the model parameters within a reparameterization space during training of the model. In particular, the present disclosure describes an end-to-end model weight compression approach that employs a latent-variable data compression method. The model parameters (e.g., weights and biases) are represented in a “latent” or “reparameterization” space, amounting to a reparameterization. In some implementations, this space can be equipped with a learned probability model, which is used first to impose an entropy penalty on the parameter representation during training, and second to compress the representation using arithmetic coding after training. The proposed approach can thus maximize accuracy and model compressibility jointly, in an end-to-end fashion, with the rate-error trade-off specified by a hyperparameter.

  • Patent number: 12244880
Abstract: Systems and methods are configured to manage streaming video content. A first time length specification for a content pod is accessed. If a determination is made that a response to a request for ancillary content of a duration corresponding to the first time length of the content pod includes ancillary content of insufficient duration to populate the first time length of the content pod, the content pod time length is reduced. Ancillary content items associated with the response to the request are streamed to a user device as part of a streaming channel comprising primary content having scheduled start times. A primary content item, having a scheduled start time, is streamed to the user device after the items of ancillary content, and earlier than the scheduled start time of the item of primary content.
