  • Patent number: 10552793
Abstract: A system generates a first layer of information that includes in combination information from the product label and attributes determined from the information from the product label but not listed on the product label. The system also generates a second layer of information that populates the second layer of information with information from the first layer of information, receives changes to the second layer of information from one of the retailer and the brand owner associated with the populated information from the first layer of information, and publishes the second layer of information with the changes from one of the retailer and the brand owner to the portion of the electronic label. The system accepts changes from one of the retailer and the brand owner to the second layer of information and prevents changes to the first layer of information from one of the retailer and the brand owner.

  • Patent number: 10553049
Abstract: Monitoring and authorizing collection of printed media. A print task is received. A unique electromagnetic (EM) signature is generated for the received print task. Files for the print task are printed including the EM signature. Communication information is received including information exchanged between a radio frequency identification (RFID) badge associated with a user requesting access to a common printing area and a RFID reader associated with the common printing area, and information by an electromagnetic detector of a computer from the EM signature. Based on the first and second set of received communication information, an attempted collection of the printed media by the print task owner is determined. If the attempted collection is not made by the print task owner, a notification is transmitted to a computer associated with the print task owner indicating an unauthorized attempted collection of the printed media.

  • Patent number: 10540656
Abstract: Systems and methods implementing a communication protocol for the authorization of transfer of resources in a computer system having a plurality of computers, including a centralized router connecting to source account controllers and destination account controllers that are connected to readers. A reader communicates a first authorization request having a source identifier to a portal coupled with a data storage storing data linking the source identifier to a linked identifier. The portal communicates with a respective linked account controller to obtain a response identifying an available resource. Based on the response, the reader generates a further authorization request for a requested resource from a source account identified by the source identifier to a destination account associated with the reader.

  • Patent number: 10521869
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide techniques for managing luggage within a premises such as an airport. A group identifier is established that includes multiple travelers. Each traveler in the group has one or more pieces of luggage that are being checked at a destination airport for a flight. When the travelers arrive, the luggage is reclaimed at the baggage claim area of the arrival airport. The group identifier is associated with each piece of luggage belonging to the group. Thus, any member of the group can properly remove luggage belonging to the group from the baggage area, thereby simplifying the airport exit procedure.

  • Patent number: 10460304
Abstract: An interrogating and processing system and method is described. A wireless communication device interrogates an information source, having a barcode or tag, and wirelessly transmits data indicative of the information source. The interrogator can be built into or adjunct to the wireless communication device. An automated processing subsystem receives the transmitted data and identifies an item corresponding to the data. A fulfillment subsystem effects delivery of the item to a destination. There can be a coupon code scanning and processing system and method. A wireless computing device having an interrogator reads a coupon code. An automated processing subsystem receives the corresponding data and provides a benefit associated with the coupon. The benefit can be a discount on a product or service. Alternatively, at least a portion of the coupon including a code is displayed on a screen of the computing device for processing at a point of sale terminal.

  • Patent number: 10445966
Abstract: An electronic voting system is described that utilizes printed vote records (PVRs) in which a voter's vote selections are recorded in voter readable characters. Optical character recognition (OCR) techniques may then be utilized to scan the PVR to record the voter's selections. The OCR data is then utilized to generate the cast vote record. Thus, the electronic voting system directly interprets the voter selections from the PVR just as the voter sees the data. In this manner “what you see is what you get” printed vote record data is provided for a voter's viewing and that same data is used to generate the cast vote record.
