  • Patent number: 11869264
Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for pre-processing a table in a document for natural language processing. A table in a document is parsed to extract column headers, row headers, and data cells, which are processed to determine an initial set of a main element comprising an entity whose value is to be extracted, a conditional element that refines the entity, and a value element comprising a value for the entity. A user selection is received of at least one of the column headers, row headers, and data cells for at least one of the main element, conditional element, and the value element in the initial set to produce a modified set of the main element, conditional element, and value element. The modified set is provided to a natural language processing engine to perform natural language processing of the document including the table, using the modified set.

  • Patent number: 11868422
Abstract: Dynamic link preview generation techniques are described that overcome the challenges of conventional techniques by supporting link preview generation by a content provider system that proves the digital content via a respective network address. In one example, a content provider system, based on a request received from a service provider system, identifies a communication platform of the service provider system that is to be used to communicate the shared link. Upon identifying the communication platform, the content provider system locates customization data that describes how the link preview is to be generated for the communication platform. In response, the content provider system renders digital content available via the network address to generate the link preview.

  • Patent number: 11861301
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer system for grouping parts. Sets of unigrams are generated from text in part lists for parts in a family of parts using natural language processing, wherein a set of unigrams in the sets of unigrams represent components for a part in the parts. A document term matrix is created using the sets of unigrams. The document term matrix describes a presence of components in the parts. A number of unigrams from the document term matrix that has occurrences in the document term matrix that are greater than a common design threshold is removed. Removing the number of unigrams from the document term matrix forms a processed document term matrix. The common design threshold identifies a level of occurrence not useful in differentiating the parts from each other. The parts are clustered into groups using the processed document term matrix.

  • Patent number: 11842141
Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to systems and methods for device-dependent display of an article from a PDF file. The article can have multiple columns. The system can use a library to render the article from the PDF file. The rendering can include bounding boxes positioned at on-page coordinates that can include one or more images and multiple text blocks of glyphs. The system can partition the text blocks and images in two or more columns using dynamically adjusted valleys between columns. The system can set a reading order of the article after rendering. The system can merge and split text blocks to form paragraphs of text. The system includes logic to infer semantic information about typographic roles of the paragraphs from at least the font information. The system can cause display of the article in a device-dependent format using the semantic information and the reading order.

  • Patent number: 11836445
Abstract: A solution for spreadsheet table transformation is provided. In this solution, one or more header areas and a data area of a spreadsheet table are detected. A hierarchical structure of each of the header areas is determined by analysis of cell merging and/or indents in the header area, and/or a function relationship between data items in corresponding cells of the data area. The spreadsheet table can be transformed to a relational table based on recognition of the hierarchical structure of the header area. In this way, by facilitating understanding of header structures based on the header hierarchy, it is possible to achieve automated transformation from spreadsheet tables to relational tables.

  • Patent number: 11829705
Abstract: Methods, computer systems, computer-storage media, and graphical user interfaces are provided for facilitating generation and presentation of insights. In one implementation, a set of data is used to generate a data visualization. A candidate insight associated with the data visualization is generated, the candidate insight being generated in text form based on a text template and comprising a descriptive insight, a predictive insight, an investigative, or a prescriptive insight. A set of natural language insights is generated, via a machine learning model. The natural language insights represent the candidate insight in a text style that is different from the text template. A natural language insight having the text style corresponding with a desired text style is selected for presenting the candidate insight and, thereafter, the selected natural language insight and data visualization are providing for display via a graphical user interface.

  • Patent number: 11816422
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed are directed to a computing system that performs steps to automatically suggest a word, phrase, or entity to complete a sequence in a risk control document. The computing system classifies, by a generative machine learning (ML) model, risk control features associated with phrases in a risk control document. The computing system then generates, by the generative ML model and based on the classified risk control features, suggested words, phrases, or entities to complete a sequence following a cursor position in the risk control document. The computing system then corrects, by a discriminative natural language processing (NLP) model with domain specific knowledge, the suggested words, phrases, or entities. Subsequently, the computing system generates, by a discriminative predictor system, an encoded sequence of word, phrase, or entity suggestions based on the cursor position, the classified risk control features, and the corrected suggested words, phrases, or entities.

  • Patent number: 11809817
Abstract: Currently available time-series prediction techniques only factors last observed value from left of missing values and immediate observed value from right is mostly ignored while performing data imputation, thus causing errors in imputation and learning. Present application provides methods and systems for time-series prediction under missing data scenarios. The system first determines missing data values in time-series data. Thereafter, system identifies left data value, right data value, left gap length, right gap length and mean value for each missing data value. Further, system provides left gap length and right gap length identified for each missing data value to feed-forward neural network to obtain importance of left data value, right data value and mean value. The system then passes importance obtained for each missing data value to SoftMax layer to obtain probability distribution that is further utilized to calculate new data value corresponding to each missing data value in time-series data.

  • Patent number: 11775758
Abstract: A computing system obtains computer-readable text comprising an identifier for an entity and an additional word. The computing system computes relevance scores for entries for entities in a computer-implemented knowledge graph upon the text, titles for the entities in the knowledge graph, and descriptions of the entities in the knowledge graph. The computing system determines whether the identifier for the entity is an acronym or a non-acronym. The computing system identifies an entry for the entity in the knowledge graph based upon the relevance scores and whether the identifier for the entity is an acronym or a non-acronym. The computing system generates a link between the identifier for the entity in the text and the entry for the entity in the knowledge graph, where data from the entry for the entity in the knowledge graph is presented to a user upon the link being selected.

  • Patent number: 11775741
Abstract: A method and system for providing an electronic form are described. The method and system include identifying a visible portion of the electronic form. The electronic form can include a control component at a component location of the electronic form that is operable to receive an input from a user. The method and system can then determine an accessibility state of the control component based on the component location and at least one of a display property of the display and the visible portion. The accessibility state can be a convenient state when the component location is suitable for the display but is in an inconvenient state when the component location is not suitable for the display. When it is determined that the accessibility state is the inconvenient state, the method and system involves displaying a transient control component, or a version of the control component, on the display.

  • Patent number: 11763072
Abstract: The invention relates to computer-implemented systems and methods for assessing the quality of a document or a technical memorandum written with a loosely defined template, stereotype and/or outline of key sections or headers. An embodiment of the present invention leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to identify key sections in a document using NLP text patterns and further establish, using ML, how closely a given section matches similar sections in other documents that are considered by human Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to be “well-written” for the intended purpose of the overall document. An embodiment of the present invention further ascertains whether the overall flow of the document follows a general outline in terms of the order of sections.
