Abstract: A method for operation of an automation device for obtaining information about a control program provided as an automation solution for control and/or monitoring of a technical process is specified in which, especially from a database in conjunction with the control program, a list of entry point questions is loaded and presented to the user for selection and, when an entry point question is selected in the list of entry point questions in conjunction with the entry point question at least one item of dynamic information relating to the control program is loaded.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating transition in a rendering of a network page given a resizing of a view port of a viewing window. A network page is rendered in a computing system in a view port on a display device, the network page defining a plurality of view port resolution ranges. A first level of changes is implemented in a display of the network page in response to a resizing of the view port within a respective one of the view port resolution ranges. A second level of changes is implemented in the display of the network page in response to a resizing of the view port through a transition threshold defined between a respective pair of the view port resolution ranges.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface stores a document having primary content, supplementary content, and user-generated content. The device displays a representation of the document in a segmented user interface on the display. Primary content of the document is displayed in a first segment of the segmented user interface and supplementary content of the document is concurrently displayed in a second segment of the segmented user interface distinct from the first segment. The device receives a request to view user-generated content of the document. In response to the request, the device maintains display of the previously displayed primary content, ceases to display at least a portion of the previously displayed supplementary content, and displays user-generated content of the document in a third segment of the segmented user interface distinct from the first segment and the second segment.

Abstract: An MPEG object is an object-oriented data structure that may be used in the creation of interactive MPEG video stream. The MPEG object data structure includes an MPEG object interface defining data received by the MPEG object and data output by the MPEG object. The MPEG object data structure further includes either one or more MPEG video elements or an association to one or more MPEG video elements. The MPEG video elements are preferably defined as MPEG slices that include a plurality of encoded macroblocks. Additionally, the data structure may provide a method for receiving input through the MPEG object interface and in response to input from the client device outputting an MPEG video element. In certain configurations, the MPEG object contains a method that maintains state data for the MPEG object. The state data may be used to select between a plurality of MPEG elements to output.

Abstract: A user interface includes a graphical topological representation of an information system. Information is collected regarding connections between switches, storage nodes and computer nodes in the information system. Any sub networks in the system are identified based on the collected information and classified as LANs or SANs. Connections between the various components are determined, and a layout of any identified LANs, computer nodes, SANs, and storage nodes is established for generating the topological representation in the user interface. The graphical topological representation of the information system is displayed in the user interface with the LAN icons, computer node icons, SAN icons and storage node icons laid out in a matrix-like arrangement of columns and rows, such that for LANs, computer nodes, SANs and/or storage nodes that are connected to each other, the corresponding icons are located on or near a same row in the graphical topological representation.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for presenting a plurality of shared calendars in a single electronic display frame or window where each of the plurality of shared calendars is displayed in a common view mode relative to other displayed shared calendars. Users may select one or more shared calendars to be displayed in the same display frame or window as their own calendar. Upon selection of a shared calendar to be displayed alongside a first calendar, an aggregate view object is called to control and coordinate all shared calendars selected for display in the common window or frame. The aggregate view object determines the view data object, including view mode (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) and other calendar display settings of the first or active calendar displayed in the common view of shared calendars.

Abstract: Disclosed is a computer-implemented method to create a presentation having at least one sheet, where each sheet contains one or more visual elements, as well as a system and computer program embodied on a computer-readable storage medium. The method includes, in response to input from a user, representing visual elements as depictions in a model, where each depiction depicts a single item in the model, where each item is a unit of information with a unique identifier, where each item can be depicted by at least one depiction and each depiction defines the visual representation of the item's information via the visual element. The method further includes, in response to a change to an item made by altering the visual element associated with the depiction of the item, automatically propagating the change to the item to all other depictions of the item across all sheets of the presentation. The method further includes updating the associated visual elements to reflect the change to the item.

In some implementations, a method includes associating a parent and child component in a source application. The components are used in the presentation of document data during navigation among documents. A navigation interface in an application window of the source application is presented, including presenting document data according to the parent and child components. Input adding the parent component from the source application window to an application window of a target application is received. It is determined that the output of the child component is connected with the input of the parent component, and then computer-readable instructions associated with the parent component and the child component are inserted into the target application.

Abstract: An apparatus and method helps a user to determine parts of an electronic document that are of interest by allowing the user to define preferences for processing an electronic document, and by automatically highlighting one or more portions of the document according to the user preferences. Highlighting includes any way to enhance or alter the appearance of text, including bold, italics, underlining, change in font style, change in font size, change in color, change in background color, etc. The automatic highlighting of portions of the document attract the user's eyes to that portion of the document, which helps the user to discern whether or not the highlighted portion is relevant or interesting. The preferred embodiments also include a document generator that takes an input document and generates therefrom an output document that has one or more highlighted portions that are hard-coded into the document according to the user preferences.

Abstract: Ergonomic graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for displaying medical record information obtained from various sources within handheld devices are provided. A GUI for display within a touch screen display of a handheld device includes adjacent first and second portions. A list of patient names is displayed within the first portion of the GUI, along with medical facility location information, means for indicating when new clinical data for a patient is available, means for removing patient names from the displayed list, and means for sorting the displayed list of patient names. A plurality of ergonomically designed GUI controls are displayed within the second portion of the GUI. Each of these GUI controls has a width that is between about 15% and 75% of a width of the display, and a height that is between about 15% and 75% of a height of the display.
