Abstract: An improved pulling gun to provide a parallel and linear pulling force for pulling out screws of various sizes from bulged screw cartridges smoothly without reduced defects. The pulling gun includes a lever and a handle having respectively an upper section pivotally engaged with each other and a lower section bifurcated at a front and a rear position by a pivotal spring located in the handle. The lever has an upper pin mounted to the top end to pivotally engage with a guide sleeve which has two side walls formed respectively an upper flange and a lower flange bent inwards from the top and bottom ends thereof. The upper section of the handle engages with a pulling sleeve which has two side walls each having a guide slot in parallel with each other to allow the upper pin of the lever moving therein. The pulling sleeve is movable in the guide sleeve linearly and in parallel to generate a linear and parallel pulling force to remove screws without wobbling or generating defects.

  • Patent number: 6464207
Abstract: A motorcycle lift and stand apparatus for manually lifting and supporting a motorcycle in an elevated position for cleaning or other maintenance. The motorcycle lift and stand apparatus is a collapsible support system which can be quickly and easily raised from a storage position to an operational position by the use of a lever arm. Operation of the lever arm easily lifts an entire motorcycle into a raised position above a ground plane. The apparatus has a cycle support surface formed by two cylinders spaced apart by rigid members and a pair of upright support units. The lever arm is affixed to one of the upright support units such that when the arm is lowered, the upright support units raise the cycle support surface from the ground plane position to an elevated position with sufficient force to lift the motorcycle.

  • Patent number: 6460237
Abstract: An apparatus for radially expanding an elastic handgrip on its axis of elongation to allow easier introduction of a shaft to the elastic handgrip by an open end of the shaft. The main body of apparatus provides a two section element which includes a cradle revealed by opening the element which is shaped to receive an elastic handgrip. A ventilation probe extends from the cradle to penetrate the elastic handgrip away from its open end upon positioning of the elastic handgrip in the cradle. The second section of the main body is a cradle closure. positionable on the cradle, for substantially enclosing an elastic handgrip disposed therein except in an area immediately surrounding the open end of the elastic handgrip. A muzzle fits around a shaft and is positionable over the cradle and cradle closure for stretching the handgrip adjacent the open end of the hand grip over a shaft.

  • Patent number: 6458017
Abstract: A method for planarizing a material surface by providing a suspension of solid abrasive particles in liquid suspension of medium density dm which is within 2 to 15% of the substantially constant solid density ds. The solid abrasive particles are thus generally freely and stably suspended in the suspension liquid n medium. Damage to the grinding and polishing qualities of the solid particles is minimized through reduced contact and collisions of the solid particles on one another.

  • Patent number: 6447381
Abstract: In a polishing apparatus, a wafer is sustained by a wafer carrier and the wafer is ground with a polishing pad which is rotationally driven. A slurry is fed on to the polishing pad through a slurry feed nozzle. A filter is disposed upstream from the wafer in the direction of rotation of the polishing pad and traps the swarf generated on the polishing pad. A defense barrier is provided around the polishing pad to prevent the slurry on the polishing pad from spilling out therefrom during polishing and thus retains the slurry thereon, thereby recycling the slurry on the polishing pad.

  • Patent number: 6439978
Abstract: A substrate polishing system includes two hollow drums and motors for driving the drums in a reciprocating manner. An abrasive tape wound on supply and takeup rollers is introduced, with the supply roller mounted inside one of the drums and the takeup roller mounted inside the other drum. The abrasive tape exits the interior of each drum through a slot in the surface of the drum. Between the drums the abrasive tape passes over a platen having a bearing surface. A substrate is mounted in a carrier and forced against the abrasive tape where it overlies the bearing surface. The drums are rotated reciprocally, thereby causing the abrasive tape to move back and forth over the platen and polishing the substrate. After a substrate has been polished the tape is advanced a selected distance by indexing motors that are connected to the supply and takeup rollers.

  • Patent number: 6439545
Abstract: A motor-driven trailer swivel jack is described that includes a detachable steering assembly. The steering assembly is fastened to the jack by both electrical and mechanical fasteners. The mechanical fastener allows the steering assembly to freely pivot in the vertical direction, which allows the user to maintain a grip on the steering as the jack moves over rough terrain. The mechanical fastener provides a rigid connection in the horizontal direction, which allows steering forces to be transferred to the jack without loss. The electrical connector is mounted between the motor and its power source. All the wiring necessary to connect the motor to the power source and the switch to control the motor is located in, or attached to, the removable steering assembly. When the steering assembly is removed, the de-energized motor effectively brakes the wheel of the jack, which complements the absence of a steering mechanism to make the jack difficult to accidentally move or tamper with.

  • Patent number: 6435941
Abstract: Generally, a semiconductor wafer processing system and more specifically, a semiconductor wafer planarization system for polishing a workpiece, such as a semiconductor substrate or wafer. The system generally includes a first polishing module that has a polishing head for retaining a workpiece, a staging module and a set of load cups for transferring the workpiece to and from the polishing head. A primary robot that has a workpiece gripper transfers the workpiece between the first set of load cups and the staging module. The staging module and the load cups comprise transfer locations where processed and unprocessed workpieces may be set within the reach of processing modules and transfer devices so that the dwell time associated with handling polished and unpolished workpieces is reduced. Additionally, a method for transferring wafers about the polishing system is also disclosed.
