  • Patent number: 7186314
Abstract: A plasma processor includes a table on which a target object is to be placed, a vessel which accommodates the table and in which a plasma is to be generated by a high-frequency electromagnetic field, a high-frequency oscillator (30) which generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field, and a reference oscillator (34) which is lower in output power than the high-frequency oscillator (30) and stable in oscillation frequency. A reference signal generated by the reference oscillator (34) is injected into the high-frequency oscillator (30) to fix an oscillation frequency of the high-frequency oscillator (30) at a frequency of a reference signal. Therefore, accurate load matching is performed to improve an energy efficiency when an automatic matching device provided between the high-frequency oscillator (30) and vessel is designed based on the frequency of the reference signal.

  • Patent number: 7142172
Abstract: An antenna reflection structure including a plate, a side wall and a protrusion is disclosed. The side wall is generally perpendicular to the plate and the protrusion respectively. And a concave slot is formed by the side wall, the plate and the protrusion. The antenna can be fixed on the plate. The concave slot controls the transmitting direction of the electromagnetic waves transmitted from the antenna so that multi-reflection of the electromagnetic waves in the concave slot occurs and the electromagnetic waves can be transmitted in a desired single direction with the aid of the protrusion. Therefore, the antenna reflection structure can yield higher gain value and better directivity. In addition, the antenna reflection structure further provides the characteristics of being easy to process and minimize.

  • Patent number: 7142573
Abstract: A temperature-stable and temperature-tunable composite etalon with an increased field of view is constructed by partially filling the cavity with a transmissive parallel-plate filler. The coefficient of thermal expansion and the index of refraction of the filler material are selected so as to produce the desired rate of change of the optical length of the cavity as a function of temperature. The filler plate is preferably chosen to be significantly thicker than the remaining air gap in the etalon cavity. As a result, the fact that the filler plate occupies a large part of the cavity space increases the acceptance angle of the etalon of the invention in comparison with corresponding conventional air-spaced etalons.

  • Patent number: 7132993
Abstract: A monoconical antenna comprises: a substantially conical concavity formed in one end face of a dielectric; a radiation electrode provided on the surface of the concavity; and a ground conductor provided in proximity to and substantially in parallel with the other end face opposite the one end face of the dielectric. The monoconical antenna is so constituted that electrical signals are fed to between the near vertex region of the radiation electrode and the region of the ground conductor. The half-cone angle ? of the substantially conical concavity formed in the one end face of the dielectric is determined by a predetermined rule corresponding to relative dielectric constant ?r. Thus, the quality of wideband characteristics inherent in the monoconical antenna can be sufficiently maintained, and further size reduction can be accomplished by dielectric loading.

  • Patent number: 7116278
Abstract: A low radar cross-section monocone antenna is provided with an ultra-wide bandwidth in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum running from 1 gigahertz to 18 gigahertz by decreasing the low frequency cutoff through enlarging the overall dimensions of the cone while at the same time maintaining the base diameter of the apex of the cone to the initially-set dimension that establishes the high frequency cutoff of the antenna. The apex of this cone that serves as its feed point has a base diameter that results in the wide bandwidth, with the monocone antenna having a 5 dBi gain and omnidirectional coverage.

  • Patent number: 7110427
Abstract: The invention is generally concerned with vertical cavity surface emitting lasers. In one example, the vertical cavity surface emitting laser includes, among other things, an upper mirror structure having a metal contact, a top mirror above the metal contact, and a semiconductive top DBR having an insulation region, wherein the top DBR is no more than 3.5 microns thick and is disposed below the metal contact. Thus, the top DBR is sufficiently thick as to enable adequate current spreading, but thin enough to enable fabrication of an isolation region using relatively low energy ion implantation or relatively shallow etching.
